Ok guys, I think I may have thought of a pretty good solution to my issue and I'd like some feedback!
so here's how I run my website, basically. I run a website where I embed episodes of TV shows and people can stream them for free on my site through the embeded links, nothing is hosted by me.
My website ranks well in the serps but it gets DMCA Takedown probably once every week or so.
To combat this, I make a subdomain and move my website there, for example I'll have mywebsite.com and i'll just move the website to www1.mywebsite.com, once that one is dmca takedown'ed I'll switch it to www2.mywebsite.com (currently on www6 lol)
But after some research, I've found that this is potentially bad for SEO? Also it makes it pretty difficult to build backlinks with the website domain changing so often. If i get a backlink to a subdomain that is later 301 redirected to another subdomain does that pass link juice?
Anyways, what I was thinking of doing is creating subdirectorys instead of subdomains. When the DMCA complaints come in they usually just snipe down the root domain from search serps, but if I were to make subdirectories and redirect the homepage to there and such, wouldn't that be easier to get away with and keep rankings/seo? It would end up being something like mywebsite.com/episodes or something of that nature instead of www1.mywebsite.com
Which do you guys think is a better idea and why?
Also, does a subdomain have separate value / seo from the root domain?
