So I have a website that I made on a web building site, only to find out they don't support SSL, I need a login aspect to my site, so I want to make a WP site with forums, that is a separate site. Could I create a subdomain that points to that separate site? So really my domain would point to one host, and a subdomain to a completely different one? Thanks

Yes, it is definitely possible to do that. subdomain of a website can point to another host.

    Yes.
You will go to your DNS add subdomain.domain.com a record and will point the ip of other host.

Thanks guys, I thought it would make perfect sense and work too, but I didn't want to create the separate site only to be wrong.
