Hello,

how hard does the size of a complete website impact the load speed of one directory (domain.com/DIRECTORY) ?

I want to use this website only for landing pages, but it also needs content to look legit, so I'm wondering how much content should be put there to not kill my loading speed

Thread moved. When you say content, do you mean content you're serving on the pages or are you just putting files into a directory because you want it to look legit?

If you're just serving flat html landing pages, the directory size shouldn't have any impact on the load speed, just the file sizes of the html, scripts and images that are called by the browser to render the specific page.

If you're putting files into a directory to pad it out - where did you come across this idea? Your files on the server shouldn't be accessible to visitors and they certainly shouldn't be indexable so I'm curious to know what the idea is behind this.

I maybe phrased it wrong, I do not plan to put empty folder for sure haha

Let's say, my website has only one landing page, it will load at maximum speed, right
But if I put 20, 30 more articles across domain.com/article1, domain.com/article2 ... will that impact loading speed of my landing page?
