Hey Guys,

Anyone care to share their thought on sub-domain vs sub-folder?

I know Moz (Rand) is of the opinion sub-folder is the way to go. Mueller said in a google hangout from Feb 2015 that it doesn't matter.

Thanks,

they are treated the same but folders are easier to manage and sub-domains require a lot more server configuration and in some circumstances can complicate things like HTTPS, duplicate content, cookies, security, etc... so you can eliminate those classes of headaches and do less work by just using folders.

Shorter host name looks more professional too. buckhiemer.mydomain.com is very 2001 branding.

IMO

subdomains all the way. You can host subdomains on different hostings, once you grow bigger. You can do seo for each subdomain differently.
