says I want a domain like usa-rocket.com but it's not available, so I bought rocket.com, use my sub domain usa.rocket.com as site, is this good?

It could be good in terms of CTR since users will notice that the combination of both your subdomain and domain matches the keyword.

But it wont help you for ranking purposes in the way a EMD or PMD could do. You can't compose an EMD/PMD combinig subdomain and domain because both are treated as different websites by the search engines.

Don't do it that way. You don't need to have your exact keyword in your domain name in order to rank well so I see no point in using a subdomain just to get your exact keyword in the url. Nonetheless, if you still want to use a domain that contains your keyword, use something like usarockets.com or usarocketsxxx.com (replace "xxx" with any suffix you want.

It works, but if you're planning to use the subdomain only, it's better to use the domain as a brand website and forget about the subdomain.

Why pinpoint it to a certain country, when you can have it worldwide? If it's a local business, then just do as lord1027 suggested above, brand the f out of it.

Yes it'll work and you can redirect the main domain to subdomain in order to transfer all your traffic to the sub domain.
