Sub-domain on Closte

Hello Everyone,

I have added my domain name from porkbun to closte and its working perfectly.

Can anyone tell me how can I create a subdomain like >>> test.mysite.com

Searched on their site but unable to find any leads, So asking all the gurus in here

I don't think you can

I've had a look and haven't found anything either.

I guess you could do something dns wise and make a new "site" under that.

Edit:

I'll try add a new a record and make a "site" under that, I'll let you know how that goes

Just add an new A record "test" in your domains DNS settings, and make a new site with the domain test.mysite.com, not any harder than that.

Should be possible. Are you using closte nameserver (not sure about them... never used them), or are you using porkbun nameserver with an A record to closte IP?

This will work from porkbun's dns panel, if he is using porkbun nameserver. If he is using closte nameserver, he will have to do the same from closte's DNS panel (if any).

@Azaan @RoiBox @Gogol Thanks but what should I add TYPE?. Also how will i install WP once a subdomain is created?

This closte is quiet confusing me lol

Yepp. You found it.
name should be test
Type should be A
Ip should be the IP of your host.
Keep TTL as default.

TBH, not sure how it works inside closte, but you could theoretically add another host for the sub domain. You will need to provide that host's IP if so.

Name would be the subdomain name
Type is A
IPv4 address can be found by looking at the A record for your actual domain, or the www record.

After that go on sites, add site, then enter the details. Under domain name put the name of the subdomain and you'll be good to go
