Stupid question....

I bought my domain from Porkbun and shared hosting from Namecheap. Now to link them I used the ip that namecheap sent me and created an A records in porkbun dns managed file. everything is working good with this. However, I later found out that I should be adding namecheap namervers to my porkbun account. Can you guys explain the difference ? Are they the same ?
I have now put both the IP in A records and nameservers, is that fine?

The website should work with Porkbun's nameservers, and the IP from Namecheap. If you can access your website, there's no issue.

No problem with using either porkbun or namecheap nameservers, it's an option
i would personally go with namecheap since they have a few more features over the DNS panel (subdomain redirection for example), but it doesn't really matter

It is not good idea to use direct ip address in A records. Specifically when you are using shared hosting.

Use only DNS records.

So incase ip address of shared host changes, it does not take make your website inaccessible.

Thank you. I will get rid of the IP address. Do you mean namervers when you said " use only dns records"
