Stupid question about proxys.

Proxies are servers that mask your IP address. Instead connecting like this:

your PC -> twitter

You connect like this:

your PC -> proxy -> twitter

There are 3 types of proxies: transparent, anonymous and elite.

- Transparent will show your real IP to twitter (if twitter is smart enough to check it)
- Anonymous will not show your IP but will tell twitter that you are using a proxy
- Elite will not show your IP and will not tell twitter that you are using a proxy

There are 3 common proxy protocols: HTTP, socks4 and socks5

- HTTP is only for HTTP connections
- socks4 is the old version of socks5
- socks5 is like your own VPS (i.e. you can use torrent for example, not only HTTP)

Cheers,

I also have a stupid question about proxies :)

How do the proxy providers get their hands on so many IPs to begin with?

WCO:
Its like any business. You start out buying a pool of widgets then as your business grows you scale out and buy more widgets. ipv6 will increase the inventory so a limited supply won't be a factor.

If you doing lots of marketing with those twitter accounts and don't want them banned, you would get some proxies. And if you're doing SEO for your blogs, including Scrapebox commenting, etc proxies are ideal.

They make your connections appear to come from other IPs.

Yeah basically what he said :)

Scrapebox without proxies? BIG no no!

If you only use Twitter etc for personal then I doubt you would need proxies but if it's for advertising then yeah totally different ball game

Another question :D So when i am from slovakia, and i use proxy from USA, and i will go check my content locker offers, they will be USA offers? I know its stupid question, but im new to proxys... :)

If you Use Scrapebox or any other softwares like sicksubmitter then Proxies are requires. Well Proxies are use to avoid spamming and access quickly while you work on your projects on software's. Success rates are good.

maybe I've been using the wrong ones.. they seem to die too quickly

Great. Can I add my stupid proxy question?

Say regged 15 really good, marketable pinterest user names months ago before it blew up, but did it all with the same ip...if those accounts have been sitting dormant and I start using them now through proxies am I good to go?

Don't plan on spamming too much with them because like I said, they're great accounts that are KWS for my two main sites. I just want to make sure that the fact that I regged them with the same ip won't get them banned??

Thanks.
