I think there are no longer friends friends adding in SU now.. We can just exchange subscriptions instead :)
 
It is still possible to add friends, you just have to revert SU from the new beta layout to the old one.

Adding people that have replayed to this thread the last week.
 
Yup, after like 20mins I figured out I had to revert back to the old theme to have the "add friend" displayed.
