Hey Guys, I was hoping you to get some insight regarding bumping into the top 4 spots on G. I've been hovering around 5-8 for the past few weeks but can't seem to break that #4 spot. Here's some background: I have an EMD micro niche site, 2000 exact searches/month. It's not very competitive, as the top site is PR2 and less than 500 backlinks. My site has over 5k backlinks, including blog comments, forum links, profile links, few web 2.0 sites. I've got around 5 articles so far on the site, am looking to add more, but that shouldn't be a reason why I can't move up even higher right? I just bought SB and have been messing around with it, but I'm still not seeing any significant improvements. I'm thinking of making some linkwheels, but I'm not sure if that would be the best use of my time. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
Focus on quality links at this point rather than quantity. You already got 5k links. Try to find sites with PR3+ in your niche and see if you can get links from there. Also search for blogs in your niche to comment on. You need some PR juice. Also is your on page SEO spot on? Maybe there is room for improvement there.
Yeah it sounds like you need some quality backlinks now. Quantity will only get you so far, then it's quality that counts.
I think you should be a little more patient and keep building links. Reduce the comment, add some more article links and you will see the result. I have a site stayed at #8 for few weeks but as I keep building links using AMR, now it stays at #2. You will need more projects to not looking at that site all the time
how about you stop blasting to your main site since you have 5k links already. now submit articles and build web 2.0 properties and keep blasting those. keep making more and blasting them. that should do it.
Build some links on some completely different types of sites than you are using. For example, it you have a shit load of blog comments, try other types of sites. Also, blast the shit out of relevant sites. These links will last almost forever and this is what Google really wants.
Hah, one of my sites is also stuck at #5. I've been in the process of backlinking my backlinks. Hopefully it helps. and cbnoob has it right. You need to have more than one project at a time. That way, while you are waiting on the Big G move your site, you can focus on another project.
Your links could be fine. It could be your onpage seo. titles, dis, keywords, htag, footer, interlinking pages, whats our bounce rate, how much traffic, keyword density.
The majority of the 5k links is from a 1-way PR5 non-relevant site (friends site) pointing to my site. There are probably 500 relevant blog comments, 100 profile links, and ~10 articles pointing to it. Top 3 domains are 3-5years old. Mine is two months. On-site SEO shouldn't be the issue. Could it be because I'm targeting 3 different keywords? Should I just focus on one until I hit the #1 spot? I've been doing a variation of 3-4, with 50% of the backlinks using the main anchor text. Thanks again!
Im in the same boat! Site has been hanging around 5-8 on page one for 3 months now (not long i know). What i have been doing recently is finding backlinks on PR5-9 domains on pages with at least PR5, so far i have made around 100 mostly do fol low. My sites alexa rank is starting to improve dramatically but still 5-8 on boogle. I little patience i think and i will climb up in the next few months, i suggest you find yourself some high PR pages to backlink from and be patient too As others are saying, its quality not quantity you need now.
are those backlinks comment backlinks, and are they related to your niche or just any ******** link? also, how much traffic are you getting daily?
