Hi guys

i have this site that i am trying to rank in slow and steady manner and for long term. Keyword search volume is over 10 million per month, i managed to get it top 30 within 3 months top 20 within 4-5 months, now its been 6 months and site is stuck at #11-12 for over a month. Since this is a white hat site(natural looking links) i am not using any public blog network, High PR links, i do buy guest posts from time to time and carefully select each blog... Site has like 100 referring domains so far, all very high quality sites, i made each link look as natural as possible...

so my question is what is the safe link building to get it to top 5... not interested in public blog networks. I have made a private blog network of 10 blogs for this site, not planning to build more pbn links as i don't want to overdo any link building. My main anchor % is less then 15% .. Also i am not interested in any black/grey hat strategy since i want to rank this site for long term..

any advice from experienced members is appreciated..

thanks.

i want to know same. but low search volume and ready to take any service let me know if anyone can help

Did you checked the top 15 of the results yet? Maybe they are ranking good for this Keyword because they are ranking good for more related keywords. Maybe they got backlinks that are as legit as yours, only more? Check this with tools as SEOProfiler/Moz and then you could take action to achieve more links, optimize your content so that you will rank for this keyword but also your related keywords.

Even things as bouncerate, responsive design maybe SSL could make the difference. When I get stuck at a X ranking I will always check the competition above and close beneath me. Always good to know the competition and how they got where they are. Often stumbled upon some backlinks which where really legit and suitable for my site.

Now that you're almost on the first page, G is testing the user experience that your site delivers.

They have you parked at 11 to give you a little bit of traffic, and see;
a) how enticing your site is to people who see it in the SERPs (your CTR)
b) how quickly that traffic bounces from your site

If you have a good CTR and a low bounce rate, your rankings will improve from number 11 without you building a single link more.

Yes many top 5 sites inner pages rank top 3 for all related keywords while my sites inner pages show at page 2.. Site has a very low bounce rate, i just made one change to my sites home page today which might help.. lets see.

That's correct, user experience has a big role here. I just made some changes to home page today after checking top 3 sites, hopefully it will show effect in 2-3 weeks. I have more links then the site ranking at #2 so if i can improve user experience i think i could land up at #2 position.

The algorithms for page 1 results and the algorithms for pages 2+ are very different. When you are perma-stuck on page two then you haven't reached competitive parity with the page 1 factors. You have to measure how you're different from sites that rank on page one and try to make up the deficit in the areas that appear to matter the most.

I have been experiencing the same issue, I will try this as well.

Would it be more beneficial to look at it from an on-page SEO perspective these days instead? Or off-page? Probably both. But these days when I look at my competitors I'm really noticing a connection between high rankings and on-page factors especially page load speed, # of requests, etc. So even if this adds another headache inducing layer to the process I think it's important to check your competitors URL's on webpagetest.org and http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ as well.

Social signals will help. A few other things too. Keyword has 10 million searches? PM if you want help

Do a complete competitor of the top 10 positions and benchmark yourself against it. Often it is those who go the extra step (having a decent blog, even good social signals) that hold the top search returns.

Meh this is blackhat forums, I went from 11-6 in about 2 weeks with $5. Blast your competitors with Fiverr gigs, next step? Profit.

This forum is black hat.. not "Let's hit each other under the belt" I honestly freaking hate to see comments like this. You are polluting my eyes.

Don't listen to mickyfu. Forum profiles and directory links are where it's at.

If I'm at your place, I would go with these things even I already worked on them:
1. Build 4-5 new web 2.0 at authority sites will unique content. (Links will place after indexing). and then blast Blog comments in tier 2.
2. Build some more social signals and content aggregators.
3. Work on On-page a bit.

I'm sure it will work for you. :)
Cheers

Update : I managed to get this keyword at #5 now after 2 months, aiming for #1 now...
