Hey guys,

I have a small SEO consultancy, JD SEO Consulting. I have three clients right now, a lawyer, and two therapists. I'd like to get around six clients, as I want to keep my company small. Just struggling to get new SEO clients. What strategies have worked best for you? I've tried rankleads but had no luck there. Also, how much do you charge for Local SEO on average?

Thanks!

Yeah, getting SEO clients lately feels like pulling teeth. What’s helped me is offering something small upfront—like a free audit or pointing out quick wins they’re missing. It builds trust without sounding salesy. Also, try niching down. When you say “I help dentists rank locally” or whatever your niche is, people take you way more seriously than just “I do SEO.”

How did you get the 3 clients. You should try reaching out to businesses that are ranking on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... Pages.

I would recommend changing the angle behind your sales pitches.
Earlier people were selling links and basic on page services, however after AI came since last 2 years, value of links and basic services went very down and that’s why people are loosing interest in investing for SEO.
If one shares with their prospects that they will be creating semantically optimised pages, quality PR links that still works and than contents only native expert research based writers, the pitch will attract the prospects for sure.

It's highly competitive so you gotta get creative. Focus on pumping your business listing up with reviews. Work on your own SEO and build out pages.

In surrounding areas open up more GMBs under a different domain and business name (you should always have a test site anyway)

You have 3 clients currently.

Do 10x more of how you acquired them.

What's stops you from doing that?
