Hi, I am getting really frustrated with content development... why is it so hard to find a good team of people that can post on my forum fairly easy every day conversational topics???

I have a forum that I need to "kickstart" after a big overhaul and need 450 posts per day (or almost 14,000 posts per month) so I was thinking people would work hard to deliver on trials for such a nice piece of work but I have been thoroughly effed with results so far.

Does anyone know a great content company with LOTS of writers so that a job this big is not an issue?

ps. I didn't put this in the "Hire Freelancer" forum because I want non-freelancers to post recommendations, not plug their own wares.

I know of some guys that will pick up a % maybe 50 to 100 posts per day!

What rates are you paying

PM if interested

Thanks

I think I can help you with 200 posts a day. A friend of mine has a team of writers and he has been generating 25K words on a daily basis so I think he can solve your purpose. If you're interested then let me know. I'd talk to him. I think you can also look into BST section because there are some guys who can meet your expectations.

Cheers :)

Thanks for the responses guys, my expectation was at least $1000 per month on this... don't know if this is realistic or not?

That's really your problem.. At an average of 50 words per post that works out to be about $0.15/100 words. Pretty damn dire!! Even the worse of non-English writers can get $0.50/100 words writing content.

With that sort of budget you'll end up with either a lot of super-short posts or really low quality content.

You didn't say what your problem was, just that you were 'effed'. :)

I would guess the problem is what I stated above though?

You would really need to be looking at $5k/mo for a budget if you want to end up 450 posts a day of quality content that consists of more than stuff like "thx" "great share" :)

That would still only work out at about $0.75/100 words at an average of 50 words per post though, but at least it's more reasonable.

If you want the forum to be filled with the caliber of what I'm writing here then you're looking at $10k to $15k/mo.

In some businesses you really do have to spend money to make money.

If you don't have that sort of money to spend what I would do is :-

1) Raise the quality of the writers and reduce the amount of posts you need.

2) Find 5 good writers who would be interested in a 5% share of the forum in exchange for doing X posts per month and have them each manage like 5 accounts giving you 25 active members producing high quality content.

3) Push hard on the advertising front. I'm not an expert on creating forums but I would say the best time to push hard is when people are actually participating. Ie, you're better off having people find the forum when there's 5-10 active discussions going on rather than 3 month old content and nothing happened now. I don't think forums are so much about the amount of posts, but rather the current activity. If people create posts/threads and others reply they're more likely to stay. Forums aren't about reading, they're about participating in a community.

PM me. I can definitely help you.I know a team by whom I have completed this type of things. ;)

BlueTurtle, thank you great feedback. Your interpretation of "effed" is correct... in fact I am seeing problems on delivery time as well as quality.

However in terms of budget, I am also seeing this as a heavy volume discount and long terms arrangement. I've had content developed for my product sites at the rates you're talking about and it was excellent, but forum posts do not need to be rocket science... there's no research, you can copy news.google.com topics and a few senteces, etc.

I agree that it's a mundane task, but I've seen worse! ;)

And regarding budget again, for the right quality I am happy to pay , but there's no way I'd be getting up to the $5k mar a month for anything less than amazing quality.

Cheers :)
