Considering important factors of SEO, namely duplicate content, how would you deal with content that falls under two categories.

For example:

Parent category 1 (keyword)
- target keyword 1
Parent category 2 (keyword)
- target keyword

Let's take good as an example, "mini pizzas", let's say within a siloed structure this post would fall under two parent categories/silos, of "party food" and "quick snacks". Imagine the search volume as:

"Party food" 1000 exact
"Quick snacks" 1000 exact
"Mini pizzas" 5000 exact

What is the best way to allow ranking for both categories, with the "mini pizzas" post/page being accessible via both without affecting the rank (lowering juice and duplicate content).

Just a little bump, could do with this information/the best practices before I structure a new authority site I aim to build.

The question is Nice.
But I wan to share my concept here. You can do one thing. We can edit the categories pages and change the tile and description of the categories page.

In one of the silo threads someone mentioned just picking one of the categories and just be done with it. Do not link to both categories. I think they were picking the category that had the least pages in it. If someone was to land on mini pizzas its pretty easy to navigate the site from there.

Thanks guys. So choose the most relevant category and just assign one. Ok, makes sense. Thanks again!
