What is the most powerful online hosting ever created?

I am talking here dedicated servers ofc

But which hosting provider provides ABNORMAL amounts of resorces and specs?

Things like 1TB of ram, 100+ cores of cpu with cache measured in GB's and ssd's with Terabits of avaiable data.

    Or even more than that!

But seriously now. What is the most powerful hosting you ever had a chance to see on the internet?

I use 1$/m vps from Arubacloud to host my test projects and so far (6 months) they've been awesome!

Edit: Not trying to promote them, actualy someone in the forum mentioned Aruba and I gave it a shot. Now I am hosting my sites there and using win vps as well

Personally I have had a good run dealing with stratus4.com web hosting provider.
Speed of this VPS is remarkable, especially when considering the base price - which is about as low as a VPS gets.

Really any web host that is not a reseller can build you a custom set up if you want. Getting a server with 1 TB of ram I have never seen a host offer 768bm of ram on a server config. The price on those would be more than what the normal user would use.

But if you have a need for it I can build you one and have it on line in 24 hours or less. Just IM your specs you need and I would be glad to quote it out for you.

This would go with any of your larger host as well. I am sure if you contact them they would be more than happy to build a custom quote on it but I am not sure you will find a host that will list that big of a set up on the site.

Amazon offers a dedicated 128 CPU 1952GB (RAM) 2x1920GB (SDD) for just $13.338 per hour.

So if I can run 20 threads with my custom bot on a 4GB RAM and dual core 3ghz. I can probably run around 500-600 threads on that best without any issues and spam the world for 13 bucks :D

It would probably be more cost effective to purchase many lower powered servers and run whatever program your running in an automated and distributed matter. Only paying pennies per hour for some decently beefy machines depending on what your bottleneck is; either CPU, RAM, or IO. It really depends on what your running.

A video encoder would be limited by CPU whereas a viewbot or something by network IO. You might not need CPU or RAM but bigger IO (this can also manifest as low RAM because your IO buffers are getting huge and then eventually you get packet loss and re-transmission delays).

Cheaper, lower cost specialized servers let you get more bang for your buck since its tailored to your workload.

You also lose gains the more cores you add. Unless you know how to configure things correctly you get diminishing returns due to cross talk and cache effects. Most modern day workloads peak out at about 4 cores and any more gives less results the higher you go.

    Interesting read,
I'm actualy heading to this direction as my PC is not designed to be hammered 24/7 and sooner or later it will die unlike server grade hardware. The thing is that I want to switch to pay-as-you-go model because currently I have rented 2 vps'es that I need, but use rarely, so I am loosing money. As far as I know when using pay-as-you-go model I have to create my instance, install my software, use it and delete the instance once I am done.

So its a double edged knife because I will either have to rent big instance that costs more per hour or waste more time to install-configure-delete more instances. My bots are CPU hungry as far as I can see in the Task Manager, and are rather creating spikes than constantly using CPU.

    Thanks again,
    Todor.

If you are worried about managing (spinning up, deploying and running software, teardown) many smaller servers there are solutions out there that handle it. You basically make a "base image" with your tools installed or the instructions to run off a "clean base image" to install your tools.

You can scale up or down from a single node to hundreds this way all at the click of a button or a console comand. Running one server is the same as running hundreds.

The price / hr for some of the smaller types honestly go for pennies or less than an hour.

I can provide advice / assitance if you're interested.
