Hi bhw members!

I want to start a new website using inverted silo content creation strategy with confirmation of EAT's expert knowledge.

I'm at the stage of looking for a domain, and I'm asking for help.

In your opinion, which domain is better to choose for a newly created website?

1. expired domain, with good links, no posts in serps.

2. expired domain, good links, recently expired domain with posts in serps

3. brand new domain, no links, history, etc.

According to my point of view
You can choose the second option , where are the Quality links are retained and Existing posts in SERPs can give an early advantage concerning Visibilty
 
Option 2 is the best. When domain is deindexed and you would register it again - google will treat it like new domain. Backlinks won't help. So option 2 is the right choice. But remember to restore old content and old urls indexed in google. Keep old original content for 2-3 months, add some backlinks to your site and after 3 months you can delete old pages and create yours

spam score matters
because
imagine someone make blogging website
if the old domain get spam score so
firsly you can not do anything
in blogging website no one purchase paid post.

I would suggest you to go for an expired domain that has good links but no old posts showing up in search results. It'll give you a head start without any old content hassles

It depends upon you. If you are confident enough to provide better quality contents backed up by proper research of the market and the audience. Then you should opt for number 3, new domain and history.
 
Option 2 : Expired Domain with Good Links, Recently Expired Domain with Posts in SERPs:
  • Inherited Authority and Content: Similar to the first option, you get both the benefit of good links and potentially relevant existing content.
  • Recent Activity: The recent expiration means the domain might still be recognized by search engines.
 
Expired Domain with Good Links, Recently Expired with Posts in SERPs:
Pros: Inherits valuable backlinks and recent SERP activity for a quick boost.
Cons: Requires careful investigation to address any potential issues leading to domain expiration.
 
I would suggest you Option 2:expired domain, good links, recently expired domain with posts in SERPs
 
4. Extremely niche relevant clean domain with most of the links pointing to the homepage, branded anchors, expired in the last 6-10 months
These work the best as per my experience, the higher its value (+ better link profile), the more relevant the keywords are will be better,
I had couple of domains ranking easily for their previous niches, but required some more links after shifting the niche,

Anchors do play a key role here, so the more branded, naked & organic anchors you got, the easier will it be to switch the niche,
You still need some relevance between the niches as well if you're willing to change one of them,
Don't expect to rank if you're using a domain about "bananas" to rank for "mobile phones"...
Niche relevant anchors will make it even easier to rank for your specific niche, but they're really hard to be found if you're targeting a specific niche
 
Aged domains with a clean history
Older it is, more expensive it gets
 
I think a brand new domain with no links or history may be the most advisable choice to ensure a clean slate for implementing your content strategy while maintaining control over credibility and expertise

I'd say start fresh with a brand new domain (option 3). It's like having a blank canvas – no old stuff to worry about. We can concentrate on making awesome content, and as time goes on, your site will naturally grow strong.
 
how to find good expired domain? can we done this our own ?
