won't recommend the robots.txt method. htaccess edits are better.

Depends on how many PBNs your competitor you have increase more if they have more

They mention things like hosting, hiding bots, content etc.
However, very few of them mention the most important factor of all. Because of this one thing all of the above is useless and can kill your PBN.
Outbound Links
Be very careful not to link from your PBN to the same money sites over and over and over again. You can't hide this from Google. You Google to see your links.
Safest strategy is to build separate PBN for every money site.
