Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a monetization-focused project that involves partnering with webmasters who run content-driven websites — especially in niches like media, streaming, or file-based content.

One of the key goals is to establish long-term cooperation with site owners where both sides benefit:

  • They get a way to monetize their traffic
  • I get natural, contextually relevant backlinks through the integration of content/tools (e.g. embeds, hosted elements, citations)

This leads me to a broader question:
How do you effectively find and connect with webmasters who own real, active, niche-relevant sites?

Some specific areas I’m exploring — would love your input on any of these:

  1. Discovery:
Where do experienced folks here look when trying to identify real site owners (not just affiliate spammers or expired domain flippers)? Are there any underrated forums, platforms, or indirect methods for discovery?
  2. Filtering:
What signs or metrics do you use to verify that a webmaster has a valuable site (e.g. not fake traffic, not link farms, etc.) before proposing collaboration?
  3. Backlink strategy through partnerships:
Has anyone here successfully used webmaster partnerships as a backlink acquisition method?
    For example:
    • Embedding tools or media that naturally link back
    • Attribution links
    • Co-branded content
    • Player or widget integrations
      What worked? What didn’t?
  4. Scalability:
Once a few partnerships are in place, what’s the best way to scale this model without getting stuck in manual outreach forever?

I’m not promoting anything here — just genuinely trying to refine a strategy that connects real webmasters with real incentive, while also building a clean and sustainable backlink profile over time.

Appreciate any thoughts, case studies, or resources people here are willing to share. Thanks!

This is actually really close to what I’ve been working on too. Finding legit webmasters who run real, active sites (not just SEO flips or affiliate spam) is definitely the hardest part. I’ve had some luck on niche forums and through direct outreach via LinkedIn or even Twitter.

Embeds and co-branded tools worked well in some cases, but scaling beyond the first few partnerships has been tough. Still figuring out how to grow it without losing that personal touch.
