strange traffic increase to my white hat blogg

hi everyone.

i have create a blog 4 months ago (about gaming) and everything is whit hat on that.
i did on page seo by myself and everything is optimized as it should be.
all articles are written by me. (500+ words, unique articles, keyword density 2%, headers, meta, title, favicon and all the rest)
from day one i did directory entry manually just for fast index.
played some games and recorded it with Fraps, and uploaded it on YouTube, and linked my blog. (did not give any views, i let it roll naturally)
did not try to give any backlinks at all, and did not try to rank any keywords.
just letting it roll slowly and check what will happen.
page rank prediction shows i will get pr1 and trust rank also 1 . so far everything fine.
was getting 10-15 visitors per day and all of em are real unique visitors.
Saturday i pinned 1pic from my blog just to check if i would get any visitors from pinterest.
i checked my metrics today and got 698 visitors to my blog.
i dont think it is natural and something stinks, but honestly, i dont have any idea what might have caused that.

any ideas would be apreciated.

u serious? 700 visitors with 10 pins only? i think its a glitch or something very strange is happening, or maybe bots that crawl for new blogs so the try spamm, but did not have any comments at all, and visitors time is 2min average time......

Yeah, looking strange. Well I think you should stop promoting on PINTEREST for 1-2 days. See it again, if their is DOWNFALL and its back to normal then surely it was power of PINTEREST.
And then start using the power.

yes sure, but is it possible to get that amount of views just only from 1pin?

Are you sure all the traffics come from pinterest? Check, it might be spambot or fake referers.

honestly, NO, i am not sure if it came from Pinterest. i don't have Google analytic on that blog since i dot want to spend some G account in a blogg that i just made for fun (but doing well). i use StatPress plugin for WP, but i suspect there might be spambot also since it is very strange increase of visitors.

Pin a few more pics and report whats happening. That's the only thing to figure out why this is happening.

Honestly, analytics (whether Google or whatever you use) will tell you everything you need to know. Check to see if everyone went to one page ("viral" content?) or if everyone came from one source (pinterest? or maybe an article) or if it is a spam bot.

It might actually be legit traffic and you can post to pinterest again to see if you get another spike, but even if that doesn't bring in more traffic it doesn't mean your last pin didn't. Without analytics you're trying to find a needle in a haystack by removing one straw of hay at a time and double checking to make sure it isn't a needle.

ok, i checked and result was spambots
maybe they found because i linked it on pinterest, or maybe it was just the moment.....
