Strange Backlinks

Hi,

I have a problem with some strange backlinks for some products in my shop. Today I checked the top refering pages in my search console and found a lot of products with strange backlinks. When I click on these backlinks it always shows me pages like "you won a iphone, a s9 ..." with a lot of popups.

Now I have some questions;

* Why someone place a backlink like this for my products?
* Affect these links my overall rankings?
* What should I do against these links? Disavow?

Hi,

1. scaling spam projects
2. yep, spam links could hurt your site
3. you should disavow them, check your BL profile on regularly basis

Negative SEO and yes they hurt your overall ranking.You can talk to the site owner of those backlinks to remove them.

1. Negative SEO
2. Yes, sometimes they do, but Google is becoming more aware of spammy content and sometimes it tends to ignore them.
3. Get Ahrefs 7 day trial for $7 and check your website's backlinks. You can check them by anchor tag and find all the domains that link with that anchor you think is spam. Then you can disavow them.

Started a analysis with seo spyglas. But sometimes it shows me not all backlinks. If I cant find them I will try Afrefs. This sucks, as I can see in the search console, there are many products with such links. What an a..... do such things?

If these links are causing a drop in rankings then disavow them, if you’re getting traffic and rankings then don’t touch them at all

2. Of course, it will.
3. Yes, disavow those links and monitor backlinks to keep your site safe.

First of all, thank you for your answers.

Last week I made a new disavow file with the links I got from my search console. I uploaded it on thursday. What happend since then is unbelievable. Lots of keywords regenerated the rankings and I got also a lot of new page one rankings for my main target country and also for my 2 side target countries.

Congrats with solving this. Don't forget to check for new backlinks every week, as this may happen again.
