Strange backlinking - Freaking Strange

I placed my backlink on local newspaper article (comment box) but,in a few days,when I checked my backlinks trough traffic travis,it shows that around 800 pages from that website,haves my link in it(without anchor text).Also,I checked my website trough Seo Spyglass,and I get the same results.I went to one of the pages that was linking to me,I haven't saw my link anywhere.I open the page source and done a search for my link,and nothing.
Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Also,should this concern me?

It sounds like the page has refreshed. It doesn't sound like a big deal.

Your link was probably placed in the sidebar for recent comments or something similar, so they aren't going to stick.

i've seen this happen before too. they dont stick.

799/800 backlinks will disable after some new comment post, forget it, build more backlinks from more site.

Pretty common and happens to me as well. What happens is that the news article gets drop off the newspaper site pretty fast but meanwhile the search engine has already index the links. You will see the index links slowly falling off in a while.

Your link could have been automatically or editorially removed. Depending on your goals / website purpose, 800 visits doesn't seem too bad of a ROI.
