Been awhile since i posted but here is a easy way to get some inventory cheap, Call all of your local storage units in your area and have them put you on a list for people to call when they auction off storage units that are past due. You can pick up some units that are filled with shit you can sell on ebay. They will call you when a unit comes up for auction you bid on it if you see what you like then pick out the things you think will sell on ebay, Sometimes in smaller towns not many people show up to bid.

It's funny...this method was in every "Get Rich on eBay" ebook written from like 2000 to 2004. I used to do this until suddenly the auctions were overrun.

Now with Storage Wars misinforming, I'm afraid that they'll get overrun yet again.

However, a year from now they'll be back to being good investments. Maybe.

Storage Wars is not reality. 90% of what you see on that show is just for show. You don't find rare paintings in storage lockers, people are perfectly capable of putting actual valuable things in their attic. Also, storage lockers used to go for $50. Now they start bids at $300, and you look inside and see 2 or 3 boxes people didn't bother keeping during a move full of crappy x-mas decorations.

Thats the thing, people don't just leave that stuff in storage units. If you find something thats valuable, its likely only worth a couple dollars. The idea is to find a Lot of items that are only worth a couple dollars.

Also, unlike the show, they typically don't do auctions on full storage units. They usually open it up and go through it themselves for obvious reasons, and put crap in boxes and auction off the boxes.
