Stop Words in URL's?

Like many others here, I've always used Yoast SEO plugin for Wordpress. As most will already know, there's a part of the plugin that will either remove your stop words from URL slugs, or on older versions recommend that you remove them.
How do you all feel about this and has anyone noticed a difference by leaving in the stop words or removing them?

Advice: It's better to do this manually.

Remove stop words when you believe they are unnecessary or they are making the url too long.
Keep them if they are a part of your keywords analysis.
