I have bought a domain with PR6. I would like to keep that PR6 for a few months until the site develops 'naturally' (whatever that is).

The site is legitimately PR6 but I know that as it stands it will fall (there is nothing there right now). Can I stop the google update for July/August?

    Then resubmit in October?

I will be putting a lot of skills to use with this site and expect a good PR but ONLY when I am ready.

Sorry to sound vague I don't know how else to ask this.

Try searching google cache or the wayback machine to rebuild the domain

Use wayback machine get all the original content back on the site using copy and paste.

wait for the Pr update to pass

    upload your new content

if the wayback machine doesnt work scrape all the pages from the serps. Remember though, PR is calculated all the time but only exported to the toolbar 4 times a year, so don't think you have until july/aug to do it.

There's no such thing as a PR update guys. I will continue to say this everytime i see this so that people learn. PR is realtime, every single second of every single day. It's just that they only publish PR every so often.

What if I orphaned the site? I mean to break all links to it so that Google can't find it anymore ... well, until i want it to.

Just don't do anything except putting your normal content on it. If you break all links, you will just lose your pr. If you don't do anything, as long as the sites that linked to your site that caused it to be pr6 still link to it, your site will remain pr6.

Infact, build some more links to your site so that it doesn't drop pr.

It was one of those sites that a Government made. They bought every domain around a theme and themn 301'd it from the main one. that's how it got it's PR.

So no real links as such.
