Over-optimize and you will get slashed by G00gle. Period. Why take chances? Go the hard way and be respected. Create content and live longer.
Read on..........
Over-optimization can hurt your business:
Every SEO faces this problem at one point or the other. In fact, G00gle is all set to crack on those who overuse SEO. But when do you know you have gone too far? What happens if some of your SEO techniques stop functioning? Should you switch over to a different strategy? A more productive one?
Stop Over-optimizing. Start Creating Value:
When you start learning SEO, you start by optimizing the title tags. Next you fix the 404 errors and your traffic increases. Then you get into the nitty-gritty by getting your canonical tags right. You even decrease the very long URLs. However, after a certain point of time, the traffic levels off instead of increasing. The ROI for optimization tapers and there are no more dramatic results.
This is where most SEOs go wrong:
There?s a big dividing line between beginner SEOs and intermediate SEOs. The beginner gets tensed and keeps on playing with the optimization. They will keep optimizing...optimizing...more optimizing. Instead you should focus on creating more value for your website. You can?t fool G00gle for long! Soon your low ROI will turn into negative ROI. Thus, over-optimizing actually decreases traffic. The most common over-optimizing technique is keyword stuffing. G00gle is very particular about the title page, inbound anchor text, and the URL. When all three are in unison in an over-optimized way, rankings decrease.
Other over-optimized areas are the linked profiles:
As we all know, G00gle takes special interest in cleaning up the linked networks and low quality links. More administrative links i.e. sites related to each other are set to be devalued. Thus, if you have a network of 60 sites and all of them are interlinked, you are probably over-optimized. Chances are you will face de-indexing.
Conclusion:
Thus, if you want to move on to the level of intermediate SEO, stop over-optimizing. Create and that?s going to help you. Create quality content. Start with a content calendar. Write every single day. Religiously. Even if you can?t write every day, at least set a schedule and follow it. This opens up completely new avenues of SEO that previously got buried due to over-optimizing. New content means new freshness. It?s a signal to G00gle so that it crawls your site more and indexes more of your pages. Create new pages and link back to the old ones. It acts like a double-edged sword.
