I've managed ( so far ) to get #4, but I am getting 1-2 visits a day from the keyword.

Here is the MS screenshot with EXACT searches

What might be the problem?

Weird. Are you sure you are looking at clean results? Use proxify to see if you are really at number 4. Proxify.com, then google.com in the proxifyy box and then do your normal search. Only other thing I can think of is the data might be bad as a one off on this particular keyword. Bummer.

Yep, tried a few different proxies, even some vps, same #4.
The keyword have ( approximately ) the same searches in google keyword tool so the data is correct.

I really can't figure this one out.

Sorry but where is the traffic numbers? Is it the 40K? Are you sure your setting it to the right parameters? (Local, exact, english...)

What do you mean ? The traffic is 250 ( SEOT )

Yes, but you must pay attention to whether market samurai is displaying the monthly or the daily traffic.
If 250 represents the monthly SEOT, then 250 / 30 (days) = 8,33. In other words, the site ranking #1 would get about 40% of this traffic, the #2 12%, the 3# a little less and so on.

If I'm right and MS is showing the monthly SEOT, then the amount of traffic your getting is correct.

nop , it's DAILY result

Monthly EXACT searches are 7,602

So what could be the problem?

The thing is that I can't keep promoting it if there are no results and it's good keyword

Sorry I'm unfamiliar with MS. Can you go directly to the google adwords keyword tool and run that search term (w/ English, exact, local) there and tell us the numbers you get? I have a sneaking suspicion that that SEOT is a global broad setting, and after searching around a bit it seems that a lot of people never noticed that it was.

I did that and google keywordT gives me even better results:

Global Monthly Searches - 18,100
Local Monthly Searches - 18,100

Here are the settings I used:
Locations: All
Languages: English
Match Types: [Exact]

So I just don't get it, why no visitors???!

My last hope is to try Traffic Travis, I don't think it should meter, but who knows

Well at least I know why the numbers are lower in MS. Those numbers in MS are 42% of the total because it shows the traffic you'd be getting if you were number 1 on google (as only 40% of the people click on the first link).

But I'm sorry I can't figure it out. You've seem to have done all the checks correctly. If I think of something I'll post back.

Yep, that's a mystery

Happened to me . I received 700 uniques/day form a kw i was 1st for.

I am still first but i get no more than 2-3 visits/day since the last panda.

And i checked ranks with proxy, and various tools.

That's not good...all my time spend on this project is for nothing ?

I made 1500/month from that site. Lost many months of work.
I am also pretty lost right now, because SEO seems so unreliable, and i have to choose some other path.

Weird how this happens and it is very unfortunate to see these situations arise

wow this thread really made me discouraged heh

BTW Berne,
Why did you tell him to search local and not global?

2 things which are happening.

1st you have selected locations 'all' which means total searches from the globe on G.
The problem is you are not ranked 4th on G worldwide. Specify your target audience and then recheck the amount of searches vs the country you are ranked 4th in.

2nd you use a keyword which is declining in popularity , this means that over the past 12 months it has an average search volume but the volume now could be 1/2 of what the average is.

That what I thought too, but after searching for specific country (UK) I have the same amount of searches as for all countries - 18.100

EDIT: You are right. That was the problem.
I rank #4 in US ( that has a very low search volume for the keyword) and when I checked www.google.co.uk I wasn't even on the first 3 pages.

So now another question - how to rank for UK or any other specific country ? Al backlinks must be from .uk domains ?

Ah hell well that makes sense, you shoulda said that from the beginning. That's what local search is about. Yeah, get backlinks from co.uk sites. Look for other British bloggers and all that.
