Sticking to a regular sleep schedule

Freelancers who expect to have regular sleep timings, have incorrect expectations.
Instead just sleep for 6 to 8 hours at any timings on a daily basis, eat healthy and exercise for 1 hour daily. Take 1 multi-vitamin multi-mineral capsule daily.
I have been a freelancer since 9 years with irregular sleep timings since 9 years, but I follow the above and I am mentally and physically very fit and fine.

Waking up at 5AM has always been best for me. It gives me a solid 3 hours before I start receiving communication from people. I can get in a work out, some personal study time, and have a good breakfast before I start dealing with clients or business related problems.

You need more weed. Sleep doesn't take effort or management, just balance.

Stop gatekeeping dear.

Are you Israeli? I lived in Bahrain for about 15 years and Friday was the equivalent of a Sunday there lol.

Thank you dear.

I’m 24. Yeah, I too think it will get better with age but staying up late at night during zombie hours + work efficiency lost because i end up sleeping in chunks of 2-3 hours and also fixating on hours lost in the morning gets really mucked up over time. Some really nice suggestions in this thread though that I clearly have been missing out on. Thanks to everyone!
you resolved your body clock bud! our body is the only place we live. sleep well!

am I the only one that finds when you get a new project in mind, or you make some progress more than you first expected, you are more than motivated to pull an all-nighter till 3am! lol I'm guilty of this regularly, and enjoy staying up till the birds wake up! :)

It takes more than 30 days to develop a habit. You need more time, 1 month of trying especially when relapsing back is not enough.

For me, - finding a reason helps a lot. I feel way better when waking up 4AM than 12PM. Like a superpower.

Another thing that helped me, ~4AM - 5AM - this is my special time with books and coffee. Sometimes I play aoe2 with a steaming cup of coffee. Make this time special and enjoyable for you and it will be easy to wake up.

Another thing you can do is invest in a smart lightbulb, I have one that cost like 10-15$ and I can setup a schedule on my phone that it will turn on 10-15min before I have to wake up and it will slowly increase the light every 5mins, it helps you to wake up when your deep sleep cycle is ending.

Try to limit your caffeine and other stimuli, I know that for me - if I will use caffeine after 1 PM, I will have a hard time falling asleep 9 PM.

Nice, a AoE II player <3

Weed isn’t the answer to everything.

I do this too lol
Anyway it’s been a good week fellas. The socks helped.

This might help ~ Cut caffeine after 5 pm, workout until energy level reaches very low before dinner, avoid pre workout supplements in evening, take light food in dinner and go for a walk. I usually sleeps around 11 pm and wake up at 8 am. :)

Glad to hear the socks helped you. I tried it one of the mornings I woke up at 4:30am and ready to get up, this week. Big nope. I can't wear socks to bed. It drives me nuts. I will lay there and focus on the feeling of the socks on my feet until I take them off. That is what happened for me lol
