Sticker Method (untested)

My brain actually hatched an idea...

What if, instead of putting these stickers on idol objects, you snuck around the parking lot of Wal-Mart, and placed bumper stickers on cars? That way, during traffic, the person behind that car, would read it? It could be read hundreds of times, before the person noticed.

You may draw more unwanted attention doing that than sticking them on buildings. Graffiti and stickers are almost to be expected on buildings, but on a car seems more like vandalism.

It's jmo, just saying be careful with that. ;)

lol...i dont know about that one man. id be pretty pissed if i saw a sticker on my car. also if you are coming out of a wal-mart or store the first place you are going is your trunk. it would likely be found before they left the parking lot.

stick a written sticker, post it. " Ring me if you want to me tonight with a little pic, ring this number PREMIUM NO. or just give your msn or aim." Whoring offline ;)

Great offline concept. Even standard mailing labels can be found in color editions. In some situations, even transparent labels may be useful (may look like less of an eyesore to those sensitive to ad bombardment). It's more economical than leave-behind flyers, as your ad message is neatly printed dozens of times per sheet, versus once per sheet on the flyers.

The stickys eliminate the need for tape, staples or pins, as they can directly attach to boards, ATMS, phones, etc when distributed. The ad url can even be combined with a voicemail using the 800-FLOWERS model (if you get a xxx-123-4567 number, then you can almost certainly find an available xxx-123-4567.com domain for it).

It's a great idea. Corporate America is inundating us with their iconography all day every day including subliminal messaging and or selling sex.

Great idea friend! Expose it to hundreds of drivers all day, inundate them with psychocommercialism.

Good work!

Really glad I found this thread. The last couple of days I've been thinking about this exact method and beleive I've come up with a really good way to deploy it.

Couple of things I want to check so I don't get my pants pulled down though...

1. Is simply buying a domain and also purchasing the private option enough to make sure authorities or other businesses can't find out my details via whois?

2. I'm in the UK, any other people on here from UK care to give their opinion on how safe this method might be? I plan on blitzing my local city centre and certain high population areas in my car in the early hours of the morning so obviously it will be quieter and less chance of getting caught. I might be over thinking this but I live in a big city with lots of CCTV cameras, is it at all likely that I could be picked up by the pigs and charged for doing this?

3. I'm going to email my affiliate manager and run it by him that I will be doing offline promotion. Is this a good idea? I'm thinking they might get suspicious if an influx of leads come from the one place, specifically the affiliate's home town.

Hope you guys can give your opinion/feedback on these questions. If everythign seems good to go with this I will get everything set up and ready to go by the end of the week. I will also start a thread documenting exactly how I did it, how much I made and what offers I was using. Not too bothered about revealing this as it's not likely that I'll get competition in my area from you guys on here. Will also be nice to give something back after all the amazing stuff I've learnt from this palce.

Can anybody help me out with this? Would love to hear from anyone who has tried this in the past.

I can help you with number 2, I have asked a couple of my AM's if I can do offline advertising.

One has said sure, " I wont rat you out, just get some other traffic there too"

Another checked with the Advertiser and its fine

and the third, just said no.

So I would recommend telling them what your doing, that way you can make sure you will get paid.

You don't want to spend hours driving and putting stickers etc up and they earn you nothing.

I am UK too, I am sure you can sort something out.

Best of luck, I would love to see someone here do a test of this.

Post 1,000 stickers across their area, post weekly stats of how well it converted.

Regards

My friend used to do this with business cards, laying them around everywhere he went.
He said more than half of the people that called the store line said they found a business card and were interested lol.
good to hear that :D

Thanks Zo0mer,

I will be happy to start a thread and explain what I did for everyone to see. There is a lot of niches I can think of just off the top of my head that could and should be profitable with this method.

I take it you have to live in a fairly large city for this? Also, would it be profitable to outsource this, thought I can't think of a way for my workers to show proof they even posted a flyer.

thank you dude nice idea but while impleenting it costs much

1. Private registration is enough to stay out of whois.

2. Use a bike or park away from cameras and walk.

3. If your aff offers allow website traffic as opposed to email only, who's to say where this traffic is coming from? You will be redirecting the url and maybe masking it. The network or advertiser would have to contact a buyer/lead to know anything. I'm not saying this hasn't been done, but if you are pushing legit leads that make everyone money you shouldn't have a problem.

Good luck with whatever you do...

No it doesn't, I can buy about 1000 pieces of paper for about $5, and have something printed on them for 10 cents at my local library, and as someone already mentioned, make small flyers, so you can fit multiple ones on a single page. Let's say you can fit 5 flyers on 1 page, that's 5000 flyers per $5, and 1000 x 10 cents = $100, so about $105, for 5000 views. Wow, that is kinda expensive now that I think about it, but if they are e-mail submits, paying about $3 per lead, and 5000 x $3 = $15000, provided 100% of them sign up. I forget what the general percentage of people that actually sign up, isn't it somewhere between 1-3%?

Using the free labels from the ups account idea a few posts up would work.

You could walk, instead of drive, depending on where you live...

You could use a .info domain.

There are ways to make this method pretty cheap...

Don't eat at every fast food place you stop at. Unless you get blunted in between each stop. That gets expensive... :canabis:

I had a creative idea like this awhile back, but it was a little extensive.

It would call for molding the rubber on the bottom of your shoes with a logo, phone number, web addy or what ever on the bottom of your shoes, put your shoes in paint and walk around town.

It may work better in mud or snow, just a crazy unique idea atleast.

That's not a bad idea actually, except when the snow melts...then all your hard is gone. Of course, if you consider walking hard work then you've got bigger issues...I'll be quiet now.

I use stickers and put them in teh mens' room on the mirror above teh sink and right in front of the pisser. My wife puts them on the back sof the doors in the ladies room...

Nothing to look at while you take a piss in a public bathroom. But if you put a sticker there... Well then.. You have something to look at, other than teh damned wall
