is this going to be the next myspace hype social networking website = new way to make money? I just stumbled upon this and never saw this before.

Not really that new but good find. I've been a member since it openned. Has been very cool to build fan base, however, isn't that wise to push spam through. Seen that come and go, as the mods on that site are VERY strict and will boot you in a heartbeat.

any idea how old this is? artists seem to use it as well.

June of 2005 wasthe creation and the current update to an actual community/social resource site happened in November of 2008. That's when I joined, in 08.

Doesn't need to be the next big thing.

There are hundreds or thousands of smaller social networking sites. All that any of them are (including MySpace and Facebook) is forums. The software is different but the function is the same.

Most people don't want to take the time, but if you create profiles on many of these, they can be good for site promotion. They aren't something you can always create moneymaking campaigns on like FB, but if you created a decent profile page, get a lot of friends, and make the profile seem real then they can be great for site promotion.

Like Aftershock said, its not good if your creating spammy sites. Don't bother if your business model is "300 MFA microniche sites," these forums are small enough they are easier to moderate and delete anything that smells of spam. Small is relative though, compared to MS or FB they're small, but a lot of them have very large member bases. If you have real content sites that you want to promote, these profiles can really give your site a push.

they only thing why I predict it could be big is because celebrities start using it. And celebs attract crazy fans, and what do we do with crazy fans? right, we exploit them with cpa offers

yea stickam isnt new but its still profitable... very profitable.....

Too bad there isn't really good software to spam friend requests on there and such.

Stickam traffic can easily be monetized

but...

the real key to having success on a site like this is to develop a good method and do some small scale social engineering, not just go in there and spam a ref link like a clueless noob. Stickam captchas and limiting do a good job of preventing most of this 'lazy' spam anyways.

just have your GF or a hot girl friend of yours to stick on your stickam or justin.tv channel and chat w guys. great way to pull some adult SU or traffic.

stickam has been up for a while but you have more of a chance with chatroulette or another service.

I've seen some on there have a hot girl chat with guys for a while then say go here to see me get "dirty" or whatever. The site they link has some content block to get in or to get a password to the chat room or whatever. I'm sure if you have a hot girl to help out and get on cam you could pull in some pretty good money that way.
