Hi everyone,
I usually buy cheap Steam games (around $1) from the same seller. I play offline only, mostly story games, and it has always been fine.
Recently I bought The Walking Dead (Telltale). I accidentally turned on Steam Family Sharing / Steam Cloud, and another user on the shared account played the game. Their save synced to Steam Cloud and overwrote my progress and decisions.
I already tried:
The game still loads the other person’s choices, not mine.
The seller apologized and said they can’t do anything.
My main problem is that this is a decision-based game, and all my story choices are different from the other player.
My question:
Is there any way to:
I’d appreciate honest answers, even if the answer is “no”.

- Disabling Steam Cloud
- Restoring local saves from Documents\Telltale Games
- Renaming save files (save_0.save)
- Removing Steam Cloud cache (userdata/remote/207610)
- Checking other Telltale folders

- Recover my original choices?
- Restore an older Telltale save?
- Or is the save permanently lost once Steam Cloud overwrites it?
