Stealth accounts

Hi guys,
I have a question.
A friend of mine has like 4 stealth accounts, and he owns an iphone, on his iphone he installed 4 gmail accounts.
Every time he gets notifications from ebay he check it on his gmail on his iphone, stealth account 1 got a notification he checks it on his gmail on his iphone, stealth account 2 got notification he checks it too with the same ip address, he does not click on the links inside the email, just read what it says and go out.

Can ebay link those accounts together just because he checks the emails ?

I would say they might be able to but it is highly unlikely. I mean they send out millions of emails per day right....

Thanks for ur comment, I wanna know if it's possible and if they do it.
 
Generally speaking, no. The only way Ebay could link the accounts together would be to contact Google and get information about the Gmail accounts from them. Of course, even if they could do that, they would have no reason to suspect that those accounts are linked, not to mention they have a lot more things to worry about. They are a huge corporation who won't waste their time doing such investigations. If they think certain accounts are being improperly used, they will suspend them and that will be that.

So you say it is safe to go on different email msgs on the same ip? without clicking on the links inside it of course.
 
No, because Ebay/PP doesn't own the email service and so can't determine the owner(s) of the accounts. Unless he starts clicking links and doing stuff but he's safe for now.

NO NO NO NO.... They will not link 100% I run 9 stealth accounts and use my iphone...2 of them are over a year old. You have nothing to worry about. eBay nor PayPal can link you through an email being sent.

Google email will not give your ip address out when sending messages through ebay. So you are save using gmail. Yahoo and Aol however do give out your ip address. So beware if you are using those.

Basically just a account with fake information, so that a seller can sell again if suspended. However some people sell with stealth even if they have a good working account. Just want to keep there real information away from there selling, which at times seems understandable.

They cannot track it unless the images are turned on to show in the email and in that case they can send
out web beacons from the images and track it. So make sure your images do not display automatically with your
email service provider. Last time I checked it is automatically turned off with Gmail.
 
Ebay and paypal don't know from where you read the emails, the problem start if you open the links so just don't open the links with the same ip
 
i have almost 15-20 ebay accounts, though I get emails and info about it on my tablet. buytbwhen it comes to logging in I religiously stick to clean PC, clean IP and clean user profile.
be careful while clicking links on email, that can be potentially problematic
 
eBay can't link the accounts together just by sending you the notifications. But in times of "big brother" I doubt it will take very long until they might be able to do it.

"Big brother" is a reference to the Government which under certain circumstances has more rights than two private companies
exchanging data. It would be a cold day in hell before Google would relinquish this information to eBay.
