Stealing Facebook page content

I made a new Facebook page and I post my own content but I have also been stealing content from a similar page. Is this stealing and can my page be taken down ?
The way I look at it is if a Facebook page posts content to Facebook then that content is in the public domain and anyone can use it, the page does not own that content.
The content from the other page that I have been stealing/borrowing/using is pictures and text (as in info about the picture)
Anyway one of the admin from the other page inboxed my page and said that 'if you think you can steal our content then you have a shock coming to you' I'm wondering what this shock may be ???

I would be grateful for any advice.

You can steal facebook content as much as you want:)
The pages you steal from, also doing it lol
 
You do understand that 99% of all facebook pages that post daily steal their content from other facebook sites, websites etc? ...
 
Yes I know all the content is stolen from other pages and my content is stolen from me but my question is what can the other page owner actually do if I'm stealing his content
 
The most they can do is report it to fb and then there's a 50% chance fb will delete the post they complained about. Pictures on the other hand can give you copyright issues.
 
If he has registered the copyright for the material he can sue you and win.

Most people don't.

yeah you can borrow it :) , but whats the point are you gaining anything by doing that......original always pays much more....
 
If the pictures not theirs to begin with they can do nothing. Its empty threats and facebook wont listen to someone that clicks a report button once.
If they own the picture and file a copyright complaint against you to facebook, all facebook will do is remove the image and a warning box will pop up the next time you login to facebook (also you will receive an email) The warning box basically states someone filed against you so they removed the content and repeat copyright complaints against you will shut your account down.

However there are some little bitches out there that copy other peoples pictures and use them, then when they see someone copying what they have posted they cant handle it so they send you these 'empty' threats.

One thing i will say is, if you have a website and they have any knowledge of attacking your site they probably will do. So it might be better if you just find another source for your pictures as this person is obviously watching your page now.

Well I had an idea
I am promoting my own pages that I started from scratch and they are doing ok but I thought if I just copy a successful page then surely it will get likes.
So I copied a page and it has nearly 3k likes in 3 weeks. So some guy is doing all the work and research and I'm using his content plus a bit of my own. I do not have the time to research and look for content so the other page owner is doing it for me.
I know it's a bit cheeky but hey I'm in it for the money not for the love !

Surely he would have to prove to FB that he holds the copyright.
His pics are not copyrighted anyway, in fact he just gets pics from the internet then adds stuff with photoshop.

Your problem is not legal, its social. If he tells everyone on facebook what you are doing, and they don't like it, you might be in for a rough time. When you start getting called out as a thief, it's too late to fix it.

Personally, I think you ought to quit IM altogether, you are never going to see real success.

I meant I don't have time because I am too busy with my own IM stuff, but I thought I can do extra by stealing someone else's work.
 
as long as it's not copyrighted material and someone report it or as long as it don't violates facebook TOS and also someone has to report it youa re on safe ground, there's a google extension that collects all photos from a facebook fanpage, it comes handy if you find a good fanpage and want all the pictures
