The safest way is to re-write it manually. Rewrite an old article manually to the point that Ezine or Google or Copyscape won't detect it.

It really depends on who's proof reading your article. In the past, I've seen some garbage get past most of the moderators at ezine.

It is still stealing and I do not really like the idea of it. No matter if you use software or not, you are essentially stealing it.
