State or City Specific Backlinks

Has anyone ever heard of getting State or City Specific Backlinks?

I want to build links from specific US states, but can't seem to find a way to do it.

LOL !! Can you explain on it a little more ?? I think the domains are based on country only not states and cities if i understand what you are asking for.

So there is no way you can create backlinks based on cities and states

Links from a website that is hosted in a specific city?

I suppose the question should be... what exactly are you aiming to accomplish?

Hmm, I'm sure there are ways to find local business websites and see about adding a link. You'll need to get creative there.

I think what you are asking is links from a niche in that city. The answer is chamber of commerce sites and the likes. You can do a search for local city papers and such (think patch.com) and obtain links that way.

Yes, I'm basically looking for city specific links.

So If I say Atlanta Georgia, I'd want to try and get links back from that city.

there are no city based domain.

Possibly I should of explained this better. What I'm looking for is city specific IP's to gain backlinks from.
