Startup Weekend Idea

Hello mates.

As some of you may know, I'm 15 year old Internet Marketer.
Recently, I've been reading articles about business & marketing on general and I just found out that Startup Weekend it's going to be on the capital of my country this december.

For you who don't know what SW is , basically .. Startup Weekend are 54-hour events where Marketers, Developers, Designers, Product Managers and Enterprenueurs get together, show an idea, form teams, work in the idea and launch it for 54-hours so this way they can create new communities and businesses


I already paid for the ticket.
I will have to move to a whole another city (hopefully a friend will share with me his apartment) and I need a Laptop (sadly I'm not able to get one but let's just hope I will one - somewhere :dontknow: )

So , I feel that this is a very interesting opportunity for me as an young IM to meet new peoples who share the same visions and ambititions as me. This can be very inspiring and helpful for my future.

So , I just wanted to ask you guys .. Could you suggest me any idea that I could show to the jury ?

Something that could be helpful for the community and something that peoples are looking or would find interesting for them.

Not really these Blogs about Technology, Economy or Local News .. but something unique !

I could show my idea to the jury and then I would start working with my team (let's just hope someone will take a 15 year old dude on their team) , so I would mostly do the Design and Marketing for the product that I'm going to show and other peoples would work on the other aspects.

I would really appreciate any suggestion.
It doesn't matter if it is technologial at all , anything that can be expressed through the endless opportunities of internet would be gladly appreciated by me

Wow, this sounds really cool. I want to go to one! Good luck. I hope you get some good ideas, do you have any of your own?

If you come with a good idea,and you show people they can use you(note that i say to "show") they will do it.

So,this can turn up in 2 ways.

1 you find something really good
2 you try to manipulate them to choose you

Check their official website , there you can see their Events. There might be one on your city too because it's Global !

Forgot to mention that it's also sponsored by Microsoft Bizspark and Amazon Webservices as well, so they offer free services.

Well , I don't really have any specific idea. I thought to make something about Electronic Books, since we all know the importance of the books and unfortunately, teenagers these days aren't reading at all .. they're using Internet instead.

So I thought that this could be effective : Creating a website where they would have access to free books and literatures on different aspects of science (for students) , so they could read & study on the go from their Laptops or Smart Phones.

Don't know how effective this would be at all .. so I'm looking for a new idea to consider.

Well yeah , it isn't a problem even if you just go there and listen to other peoples .. but having an idea it's a +

I'm pretty sure a team will take me with them when they get seperated on teams on the first day ..

Uhm it looks like this thread isn't interesting at all but however , everyone that could suggest me any idea It would be greatly appreciated for me .. It will just help me to think more widely and in a different way for it.

While I was talking to my dad couple of hours ago about social problems (being more exact : unemployment) , I thought .. I could make a website where Employers (Businesses, Organizations or even random peoples) could post ads about openings but at the same time peoples would be able to contact these Businesses , so they could get a job easier.

Knowing the fact that Unemployment it's an actual thing that is bothering society , this idea could be very effective.

Especially on my country where Unemployment rate it's 40% - 60% (2010-2011 statistics).

I'm really looking forward to this idea but I don't really know where I should start .. I don' t have any experience about creating a website where peoples would be able to post ads or anything similar .. I just know about Marketing (Social Media, SEO, Video Marketing and stuffs).

Can anyone help me out .. just by telling me how it actually works like ?
Like the process of creating a system (Website) where peoples would have access to post their own ads.

I try to think of the next big idea all day long

thats a problem in many respects...

but since you're going, try to think of how you could combine API's together

Google Maps API
Expedia API
Amazon API

Think of a website that could combine information streams and attract traffic, that leads them to buy something.
