I am wanting to get into seo and was thinking of buying a micro niche site and starting my own seo on it
any advice on this?
is this a good way to start?

I guess if you want to be quite good in seo, you must create your own projects and test different features and ideas on it.

If you don't have any experience in seo you can't buy normal site, because you don't have any experience in it.

There's nothing wrong with giving it a go on either a site made for you, or a small established site. You won't spend much on a MNS, and you can at least learn the basics. Just be sure there isn't a lot of competition for the site in the first place.

yes, MNS is good small start....
Thank You for the advise and yes I bought it just to learn the basics and go from their.

It's a great way to start. Read a lot though, go to the Journeys section on this forum and have a look at the wins and mistakes others have made.

Better research for a better keyword and start a website based on it by yourself.Add one article on the homepage that describes the main keyword well and add few more in addition based on long tails.Once you complete this process make sure your website has proper onpage in it and then start building quality links and not quantity links.

Yes agree with guys, best way of course is combination between own projects, unfortunately there is no transparent formula nowadays how to build seo, so mistakes or wins another guys it's only little thing u should look at

good luck buddy, i am glad you took action, not like me lurking around and doing nothing.

I'll recommend you to look for a good niche, not a "too crowded" one. There's tons of info on internet.

I'd go for a web 2.0 to start as those are harder to ban in Google, then maybe your own site.

There are already lots of really useful good posts here on the forum that you can learn from, some are stickied at top of site. You should take a few minutes to review those and implement some of the ideas for your own specific situation.

Another resource would be the Google Webmaster guidelines, an often missed resource of valuable SEO related information. Google will tell you what to and not to do for getting your site ranked. And, who better than Google to teach you, as they are the ones who own the search engine you want to be ranked in.

Just one question though, what is your micro niche site about? For instance, what topic will you be covering. Knowing that could help to define an SEO path.

I would advise against buying niche sites as a newbie. Start from scratch and learn all the tricks.
