Starting with emails

Hey guys, so I decided to take kinda easy start and do something obvious for learning purposes.

What do I have
- old but quite bit mail list

What do I want
- move emails from file to a DB
- buy a domain for using in email
- create own SMTP relay
- registration in in-email ad networks
- find an aff network with best offers for my emails and register
- create nice and targeted email design
- start sending emails for test

With this setup I can start scaling. What do you think people?
Also, what can you can advice on in-email ads and also what aff networks works well with email traffic.

So what I have on this point
- prepared contacts
- own custom mailing domain ($3)
- deployed personal SMTP server deployed on AWS
Will share an email example a bit later.

Guys, so what do you think on PPL in this case? Is this really a best option now?
I want also integrate [powerbox] (can't add links). Anyone have good experience with this?
