Hey there all, I have been doing SEO and eWhoring methods for a large portion of the time and that has done me well for the time being but I am becoming slightly tired of it all and wanting to diversify my knowledge on different methods so NOW, I am thinking of starting up Drop Shipping.


I will be blunt with the fact that I don't know the real ins and outs of Drop Shipping, however I have done my best to research some methods or tips on being successful (since there isn't really any tut's or guides that are super in depth of different aspects of drop shipping; finding sellers, etc.).

I am really just making this post to hopefully have someone be able to show me the ropes of getting into Drop Shipping and developing it to be a profitable investment of my time!

Hopefully someone here would be able to mentor me on Drop Shipping and lend me a hand on getting starting

I'm looking to get into drop shipping too. I'd love to follow this thread and see what comes out of it! demoncrest, thanks for coming with the thread I was looking to start! lol.
 
It seems like an interesting concept to me... and I have dealt with craigslist in the past, amazong and ebay as well but I liked being more of a middleman like in a craigslist sale, they see they info, contact you, and then you deliver the goods to them.

I know drop shipping is different slightly since when they see the listing they contact you, give you the payment and then you proceed to use the payment money to order for cheaper than you listed from a wholesaler and they ship out the goods and you keep the profits and feedback...

I dunno the whole concept intrigues me since you choose the variables and all.

I think the toughest part for me is going to be researching the consumer side of the market and finding a profitable niche, and then next on the difficulty scale will be researching the wholesalers themselves so you don't get screwed over by some scammers.

Well, I guess I can start myself from spreading some resources I found which I found useful... hopefully that can draw some attention to the thread.

(Editting my initial post right now to include some info to get people up to the same speed as me until we get a reply which someone can mentor us further, or hopefully some private mentoring over skype or something is what I am looking for :)
 
I'd like to follow this thread as well. We're currently doing some amazon dropshipping, but none of our prices are the lowest, so no one is buying. We have crappy suppliers...

If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated, and if I figure out something clever, I'll share as well.
 
It is good if you find true wholesale dropshippers. I have been in the business of building dropship ecommerce sites for companies for a lot of years and I would say that 70% of the so called wholesale dropship companies are nothing more than discount retailers than true wholesalers.

You really have to hunt and it is hard to find real wholesale companies. Most of these companies are just middle men and are cutting into your profits. If you are looking for a real dropshipper I know of a few in the GPS market, tanning beds, saunas (both high profit margin), and a few other related markets. You can PM me if you need more info, I dont want to post their names in a open market.

as bmac mentions above be selective about your supplier and watchout for scams...do your research...there is good money to be made
 
Dropshipping is hell good but certainly I am in region where its not possible for me to get things started really easy

But I have done some basic research and found a whole seller for high quality leather Jacket (In Pakistan) if any one willing to get into this I can help you in those

I would recommend worldwidebrands.com. Check them out as a starting point, great site, well worth it.
 
Anyone know of any wholesale tanning related wholesale companies? Lotions, sprays, accessories etc? Dropshippers or not I'd be interested in hearing about them.

Dropshipping from china only works if you have someone there you trust. I guess the worst thing about shipping from china is the terrible China Post because it is so slow. You'd be better of shipping with Fedex, UPS, DHL. However, you might get hit with customs if the order is large (over 200). Especially if you lie on the customs, then it is just one big hassle.

The question would be either lower margins and better shipping or higher margins and the possibility of your customers not coming again because it is taking 2 weeks.
