Starting rap beat business

Me and my friend, who is a very skilled rap beat producer is planning to start a project to produce rap beats for profit.
We already have a YouTube channel (50 subscribers).
My friend has over 20+ years of experience making rap beats, so quality is dope as duck, no problemo.

Currently, our channel has 30 beats with 100% profit-making rights, for promotion and to grow the channel.

We have a couple of paths to go:
1. Free rap beats. Probably a good way to get views etc. But can we make a profit? Can we make money just with YouTube partner program?`Is it possible? It's still secret how so many average-sounding rap beats can get millions of views. What's the secret? Dominating niche? Branding or what? Some kind of marketing hack?

2. Selling rap beats on beatstars.com (or alternative). Adding links to youtube videos.

Any suggestions on what we should do?
In my opinion, it is very important to choose a niche (like boombap, trap, club rap etc) that we try to "dominate". What do you think? Does anyone know how the youtube algorithm works?

What kind of promotion do you propose? It's interesting how many views rap beats get on YouTube. Who is listening to those beats? Other producers or rappers who want a beat?

Yes. Some are fans of beats in general, some are other composers/producers/audio engineers, some are rappers looking to buy.

Thank you. A lot of information. But want to keep it simple and outsource. I believe that quality is the most important thing that matters. So outsourcing things like youtube optimization, tags etc are good at basic level is good enough. But what makes me wonder is that sometimes I can find a beat that has millions of views, but the channel has only a few thousand subscribers is something I can't understand. So youtube algorithm just take some videos to show to everyone (I have seen the same thing in my different businesses, some random video and PUFF)..

Okay, one thing I have noticed after researching is that description and name of beats matter a shit.
It is also interesting that I can find new youtube channels having maybe 2k subscribers and around 10 beats, but they got millions of views, even if they are just average quality and no tags (with low vidiQ score). And the opposite, an old channel with 100+ beats and the most popular beat has only a few thousand views (and VidiQ score super high).
That's something I just can't figure out. Any explanations?

I am not huge fan of SEO, or other "manipulation" techniques and tricks. I believe that quality is only thing that actually matters (or at least I don't have motivation to do those kind of things, even if they work, I want to keep the focus on things that I like to do, and it is providing VALUE).

So, my plan is next: I have domain name. Gonna add voicetag (my domain) to beats, and that redirects to beatstars sales page. And someone said that visuals are important, so I am gonna hire someone from fiverr to make amazing visual video for the beat. That will work on tiktok very well too. I guess one thing is sure, it is waste of time to try to optimize seo, description, tags etc perfectly. There is so much competition trying to do the same, so it won't work.
Alternative promotion methods like commenting on rapper's videos and mentioning to check our beats. Contacting rappers on social media. Collaborating with some well-known producer may be one of the most effective ways to get audience. But I am not going to neglect the seo completely. Earlier my plan was to hire expert to do tags, description etc. But I will purchase basic version of ViviQ and trying to keep high score, I think it's enough.
Also, gonna find some subreddits, facebook pages etc where I can promote beats.

In the beginning, I will price beats very high (believe it or not, sometimes higher prices are much more effective than cheap). And little by little gonna lower the price to see when people are gonna buy the beat (it is always best to lower the price, than make it higher, basic marketing principle).

I will uplaod beats to youtube, soundcloud and streaming services (additional profit, pay per stream) using distrokid.

So, what do you guys think? I will be happy to find someone who knows about this industry to help us to make this BIG (of course he gets paid for that for sure).

I am working on a beatstars alternative to launch alongside another platform I own.

We already get a large amount of traffic from users interested in the platform, often times buying / selling beats.

Im my personal experience the producers who actually close the most sales are ones who go 1on1 with potential clients and workout deals.
