I lucked out, made money way back in the web1.0 days. The site was very successful for over a decade actually. But through a series of events I managed very badly the site fell apart and died in 2011. I took a year off. Then I started trying new ideas again, I guess I thought it was going to be easy to start a new site. Talk about stupid. Now it's 2014 and I'm still trying stuff. I just don't know what I'm doing anymore I guess. I really don't know what to do anymore, well my confidence in this game isn't what it use to be, that's for sure. I do know the web very well, an I know html but that's about it.
I'm looking at a few ideas, but just seems like nothing works. I guess its' pretty rare to find any idea that's 100%. I do have one idea in the making that has some potential. I find the biggest challenge now a days is getting traffic. Back in the day you could buy it for cheap or major search engines, which made starting a money making website easy.
I don't think you can do that anymore. I have found 1 free method for getting traffic that works. Which is simply posting ads on classified ad sites, such as CL and others. But again it only applies if your product or service fits into a catagory on the ad site. And then you have to constantly update the ads to keep them relevant, but at least it's some traffic.
Ya it's very challenging now a days. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to hearing them. Thanks.
....I feel like a washed up athlete who's past his prime ahhhh, just shoot me now and get it over with!:cow04:
