Starting over after 1 year... Need some advice...

In the past 11 months I have grown a personal IG to over 30k followers...but I am getting as low as 2.5% engagement these days. My numbers were bigger at 10k to be honest. Everyone else in my niche with less or same amount of followers is getting more EG than me. We are all posting our own handmade content.

Why I think IG has cut my reach:
I have fucked my acc up.

I have gotten dm, comment, follow, and like blocks.
I have done 2k likes a day for awhile.
I have f/uf in the same day.
Blocked thousands of people within 48 hours
I have used engagement pods.
Bought powerlikes and shoutouts (I am convinced shoutouts under a few hundred dollars fill your acc with bots)
I have bought ads on IG and Facebook.
I have been blocked for days for requesting too much data from the servers within two days. (“You are doing this too much” error)
I have had a time where my password would be reset every day as well.

So I got a new phone, new IG
, and new facebook in order to start over.

My question is, do you think IG cannot detect
Botting if it is running very very low settings? I plan to bot 1-200 likes a day just to get my new acc off the ground.

Or do you think that IG can detect a bot down to the first like and flag my account? Therefore not to touch botting ever again?

Hm, had the same situation about a year ago, but only on 4k personal acc. Then I just abandoned that account.

From my perspective engagement depends on people you target doing follow unfollow a lot.
When I target it to get more followers (about 50% ratio) my engagement from those followers is usually very low.
But when I do follow on loosen settings I usually get more engagement.

That happens because in first case people usually have more followings than other group, thats why engagement drops.

If I were you, I would remove ghost followers.
Then checked who liked at least one of your posts and than check who liked one of your previous 10 posts and did comparison. If they are pretty same, that means that your later targeting was bad.

If you have that then it is in permanent shadowban.
I read a thread about removing shadowban about a week ago, maybe that could Help you.

If its the method with renaming the account, its bs lol.

Aside from that: I think maybe your account will recover after a long time, how long ago did you stop all botting? rest it a few days and then just post and engage with followers by hand id say. Also Im pretty sure IG can detect ANY botting, no matter how little. They just tolerate it up to some point to minimize punishing real users. But idk i recently saw someone here get follow blocks for 11 follows per hour, so thats that.

Yeah that rename account strategy is BS. IG can only track your ID number reliably.
I have heard about the blocks at that rate but I am pretty sure it is because they are already low quality accounts or they are using a proxy.
They definitely are tolerating me because I am clearly quite a valuable account. I have not really tried to monetize yet.

I have disabled the account for 24 hours and haven't botted it for a few days but I am currently removing a large sum of followers. I have a feeling a large portion of my engagement loss is due to fake accounts that I have received from shout-outs. There is one account in my niche I have purchased from that is growing faster than Justin Beiber but with 1/10th his size...I am sure if he is able to sustain that growth, then he can send out fake followers to people he gives shoutouts to.

If it doesn't work, than there is no loss since I am going to 'give up' on the account anyway.

Yep I still have it. I hope its not the change username method because that cannot work.
It may just be a permanent shadowban. HOWEVER - my posts do always show up in hashtags. (other accounts/phones who aren't following me can see them)

I am currently in the process of an aggressive removal of ghost followers. (aggressive in that my criteria is very broad)

If by 50% you mean followers/following ratio? Then that makes alot of sense...because that is exactly what I did except with likes. So you are saying I possibly have alot of low quality accounts that don't engage?

I am doing a purge right now but I will spread it out over 14 days as not to anger the algorithm. I have identified 10k possible bots and am removing them all. Many of them will be real but I am also hoping to get rid of people who dont use IG that often, or simply have lesser standing.

There was an acc at my level who has hit 40k now. He is gaining almost 20% engagement even on his simplest posts. I believe that regardless of if your content is as good as someone else, you should be getting around 7-10% of your following to like it - because they chose to follow you. Maybe it really is that most of my followers never really liked my content lol. Just followed back.

Yea, I mean the ratio is big they will likely to follow you, but wont engage.
If you want engaging followers you need to follow people who liked others content, but the growth will be really slow, about 10-15 a day ay best.

Wow, i learned my lesson once after i got like blocked.

Now i do everything else but like and it has been getting better and better.

Just have to have quality content and a good looking page or catchy, make the people feel like your different from the rest.

Before i got like 30-50 followers per day, now i get like 80-100 per day while only posting 3 times a week.

It probably doesn't seem like alot still, but it's my best bet as engagement has been increasing with each upload and it has been safe for me so far.

Total, i've gained 2.7k followers in 5 weeks.
