Starting on Clickbank. What tips do you guys have ?

Hey everyone,

So before I start off let me say I've searched the forums lol I've read through many different posts so I'm making my own post because I'm interested in actually getting started with Clickbank, I'd like to hear some advice/tips/etc. about best practices, what I should do from the get go, things that I should NOT do, etc.

I'd also like to know what kind of methods you guys do for clickbank. Do you promote with ads (which kind), where do your ads lead (direct to the aff. link, to your landing page, to a "review" blog that really just pushes these links, etc.")

All advice is welcome I'm looking forward to starting out with this I have a really strong sales background so I think I'd be good with some time. I see people making $1000+/day with this, I would absolutely love to be at that level in the next year or 2, my goal would be $500/day within the next 6 months - 1 year. Realistic ? The best thing you can do is take your time selecting the product you decide to market.
* You want something that sells well and is reasonably profitable but outside of major competition.
* Obviously no matter which method you use to drive traffic (blog/site, youtube, ppc/adwords) you want to find good "buyer" keywords.

A guy w username mancar___ (something, maybe some numbers) has some really good posts about selecting your product.
There are tons of tutorials on keyword research, or you can pay someone if it's not your forte.

As to the method - they all work to various degrees depending on your experience and skill. My suggestion is pick something where you are willing to do research and testing, if you hate facebook don't pick fb ads - etc. Also pick one and STICK to it, no point jumping all around. I will suggest that it's probably a good idea to use a landing page of some sort to "warm" the visitor to the idea of spending their money and also to collect some useful information (usually their email is the easiest/sufficient) so you can build a list to the do email marketing later to increase your potential sales.

I have made pretty much all these mistakes. It's easy to think "well a domain cost me $10/year and hosting is cheap so if I make one sale I'm breaking even"and feel like you can jump around and try out a bunch of stuff. Reading a bunch of various methods on this site also tempts you as well. Just make sure that you make a solid plan that you are going to execute rather than doing actions piecemeal, clickbank will probably not make you significant money otherwise.

1. research your product WELL
2. research solid keywords for the market who will BUY that product
3. pick your method for driving traffic based on the market and learn what you can, test and learn and test and learn and STICK to it.

There is no easy way. If you dont put the work in, you wont get the results brother.

After you create an account at the top right of the page there is "Knowledge Database". After you get to that page familiarize yourself with the difference between a Vendor and Affiliate and choose weather you are a person that loves to design a product or a person that is good at sales. Once you know that you can choose one of those. I highly suggest you start to view the videos/tutorials/documentation under Knowledge Database and that should give you a general idea.

Not something you will be able to read/watch/learn in an hour or two or day or more even cause im going back myself and going threw the info for a 3rd time now just cause it makes more sense each time. I have only discovered CB in past 48hrs and I've spent roughly 18hours of that improving my knowledge for "Internet Marketing". It is true work and true dedication.

Realistic - sure, but be prepared to blast some money before you find a working system that brings you long term residual income.
What works for me as a quick, instant cash is exploiting current trends/news. For more inspiration, see:

The best advice you'll get is FORGET about clickbank and go with CPA or Amazon affiliate stuff. MUCH MUCH easier to get started and get some $ coming in. Not "easy" by the way, just easier than Clickbank.

Woah just opened up a can of worms for me maybe. Been meaning to ask but don't want to over knowledge myself in to many categories just yet. When your saying forget CB, are you talking about promote Amazon/CPA things using a CB account if even possible or does those have there own pay-out system for affiliates?

Great answers guys keep em coming. Share some of the best practices I guess too how can I position myself for a great start. I know all about buying the domain with keywords in it, bing ads, lead pages . net for lead pages if needed, etc. I want to know the insider stuff though, example don't do this _____ it's a rookie mistake, make sure you ______ from the start. Things like that so I can head in the general direction

Hard to forget about it when I know people on here making $,$$$/day. Doesn't have to be exclusive either though I can try CPA/Amazon which CPA are you talking about and what about amazon just track trends and push products for commissions ?
