Starting off with Walmart

Hey Guys,

I'd like to get started dropshipping but I want to start small and work my way up. I intend to start by using the walmart method. Listing their products on ebay/amazon and then just entering the shippers info and getting the product shipped to them from walmart directly. I just want to make sure that this method still works.

I am concerned that walmart will include receipts in their packages showing how much the product was supposed to actually cost. I think I found a way around this by shipping it as a "gift", but then it seems they include a special "gift receipt" anyway. How do you guys deal with this?

I'm not asking whether or not dropshipping from walmart is effective or efficient. I realize the best way is to establish relationships with actual drop shipping wholesalers, but for now I just want to test the waters using walmart.

Also, are there other brand stores that I could use? Target, Macy's, Ocean State Job Lot, etc. ?

Never tried it, but marking it as "gift" should work. I think it would work better on Amazon than eBay though.

I don't recommend using Ebay, amazon all day.

Call them up and just ask, "Hey if I place an order can you remove the prices? Its a gift for my wife/mom/sister/friend."

The gift option will remove any price on the receipt or item, the same as it does with amazon.

but wont the recipient still receive an invoice with walmarts logo on it? Wouldnt that raise some questions?

And the box will say walmart and then the custom will raise hell to you about it cause they could have gotten it just down the road. I don't recommend wasting your time with this, too many problems.

Is it the seller's problem if the customer is too lazy to do market research prior to buying and does not find out by himself that walmart is cheaper than the guy he is going to buy from??

I would just tell the customer that WalMart is one of your suppliers and you didn't have it in stock so they just sent it from their warehouse for you.

There are a surprising amount of items you can get at Wallyworld for cheaper. I just sold a TV today and netted ~$50. Would have been more if Amazon didn't lowball the shipping.

Also, Walmart's website has a lot of deals that ship for $0.97. I try to use those products.
