Well my big question is what to charge so emailed around and called a few local guys - never got a email back from one out of all that I emailed and when I called they did not seem to be interested and very vague..

So would like some adice from the guys on BHW on priceing..

Setup fee for 5 page website + do I charge a monthly.

Also what should I charge for social media and such...

Any tips or help would be appreciated

For the 5 page website, are you actually building the site or only doing the SEO. Things to think about are what your competition is priced at (check Craigslist), and how much time it takes you.

Me I charge $300-500 for a basic 5 page site, because I use wordpress and can pop it out in under an hour.

Monthly fee is up to you. Maintenance is an easy thing to get, because most people wont want to touch their website. You can always bump up hosting a bit, because you will be maintaining it for them.

Social Media again. How much is your time worth, how much time is it taking, and how much does it cost. With a lot of those things, you can outsource quite cheaply, but still charge normal rates. You basically get paid for finding someone to do the work. The buyer gets what they want, the worker gets paid, you get paid and get the work done. It's a win-win-win.

the analysis and optimization of one single site can take one hour fast, but it depends on how much content is on this site, no or less content is very bad and hard for the seo company. I take ?59,- onpage per single site up to 10 pages.

Offpage consits of much more work like: linkbuilding, arcticle marketing, blogging, blog commenting, but topic related! otherwise your website gets recognized as spam, social bookmarking, forum postings + profile creation (topic related again) and so on. Advanced tactics includes building a linkwheel, very powerful but time consumptioning.

I'd also say: 500 bucks per month

I own a screen printing, embroidery and promotional products company and would be interested in someone helping me out locally. Having the personal contact with someone would be very valuable. I paid someone $10/hour to work for me doing the same thing. I think the problem you'll face is having legitimacy. It was difficult to assume they would be working for me doing this stuff at home. I wanted to see the effort.

Thanks for this info.

Was thinking about charging a single setup fee for

domain + work + design

then a monthly fee - this would cover hosting and ongoing link building - articles - gumtree + craig list posting and social media updates ( that kind of thing ).

Want to become a kind of a agent for my clients - with there interests in mind.

What could I charge for the monthly fee - dont want to price to low or to high

I'm watching this thread as I'm starting a local seo service too. From the little bit of research I've done on my competitors, a few of their sites said "starting at just $500 a month", and one site said they start at $1000 a month. Looked at some of their clients sites, and wow. I could totally outrank pretty much all of them pretty easy. Crazy to think how many of the seo "experts" are getting away with no real competition...

I must agree with the monthly payments being harder to catch. People just lack trust.
