Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to follow me on my journey. I hope you find it insightful

I decided to restart my thread as I felt I hadn't portrayed my journey in the best possible way before.

    The Plan

So, as the title states, my long term goal is to achieve $500,000 per year. I know it's a big goal, but as Will Smith once said: "Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity". I also follow the teachings of Grant Cardone who states that if you have a goal, times it by 10, and then multiply the effort to reach that goal by 10. My original 'realistic' goal was $50,000 per year. So, now my goal is half a mill!

I will be doing this mostly with offline methods. I will be building my business to over business to business (B2B) services. I currently have two businesses which I have started. One is an online marketing consultancy company, and the other is a branding and video marketing agency.

In addition to this I will be implementing Internet Marketing strategies which I have learnt from this very forum. So, long story short, this is going to be an incredibly complex journey thread. But, hopefully there will be something of interest for everyone who is reading.

    About Me

I'm currently studying at university, which is definitely going to be an obstical along the way. However, I finish my exams in approximately 6-8 weeks. So I'll be able to really hammer into this over the summer.

    I'm 21 years old.

    From London

    What I've Got So Far

As stated above, I already have two businesses started up. Neither have particularly impressive income as of yet. However, my target is to have them both making a steady income by summer time.

I have a website set up for each business, and that is about it. So, I suppose the answer is...f' all.

    What I'll Include

I like to go into depth, so I'll be including literally everything along the way. From the deals I made, to the books I'm reading to expand my knowledge.

    Got any questions?

If you have any questions along the way, I'll be more than happy to respond. Please comment here though, as I very rarely check my PMs.

You'll need results for both businesses and a shit ton of ad copy in order to pull off a reasonable return in these markets. Local might not be the best way to go, but it can build you up a solid rep sheet fast and effectively, depending on your town, etc.

The most important aspect of both businesses is psychology. you'll be controlling people's reactions to get results for your clientele.

I'm not necessarily sticking to 'just' these two businesses. This is just what I'm dealing with currently. I may expand into different areas over time. I'm well aware that the half a million target is unlikely to be hit with the current scenario. Especially me currently still being in university.

    Thanks Silverace!

I'll likely be putting a large update on the thread tonight while I'm taking a break from studying.

What would you guys prefer 'large' indepth updates every few days? Or lots of small regular ones?

    Update #1

So, this may be a bit more of a rant, more than a 'progress report'.

What I didn't mention in the first post was that my 2nd venture (the branding and video agency) was originally set up with a few business partners. I felt as though they weren't putting in any effort, so I cut ties with them. The website had been designed by me, and was in my name, and I'd paid for the lot, so I decided that it wasn't fair on my part to just hand it over to them after the effort I'd put in (and the lack of from them).

Anyway, I found out today that the 2 remaining guys of the 'group' (was originally 5) have set up another website, copying a load of content ideas from the website I put together, which is a bit annoying. However, it just makes me want to destroy them in sales even more. So let's get this show on the road!!

    Books

So, I've started reading this absolutely fantastic book on writing effective sales letters. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. It goes into depth on everything, from the content itself, to what you could put on the envelope to increase open rates etc. I might go into more depth on this book in my next post.

    Progress Report

Didn't do much today I must admit. I bought a load of supplies for creating sales letters though. Also got my Google confirmation code through the mail, so I now have an official Google Maps listing, which is good.

I'm aiming to write a load of content for my blog tomorrow, which I'll feed into the blog day-by-day throughout the week.

$500,000 per year is a big number.
$50.000 would be more realistic mate.

    Update #2

I'm definitely struggling balancing the multiple things.

No progress has been made on the rankings for my Clickbank project. I have a website under the keyword of www.honestPRODUCTNAMEreview.com - It has low competition and a few thousand searches per month for PRODUCT NAME REVIEW. Hopefully I get some progress over the next couple of weeks. I'll continue getting backlinks onto the site.

As for my Online Marketing Consultancy, it is still in the process of being 'transfered' from a simple web design freelancer site, to a full on service. I've got my exams in less than 4 weeks, so that's my focus for now. However, once those are over and done with, i'll be 12 hours a day on this, so stay tuned guys!!

Good luck with your journey man. If you have the drive to reach your goals, you'll get there. The key is to just not give up until you get there!

It's going to be a long-ass journey. But I'll get there!
