It's really a good idea to make a forum, but why you've chosen Travel industry..?

Do you think is this the good in this pandemic situation?!

Only if you are really interested in a niche, otherwise you will get bored and dump it.

Good Luck

Already there are many facebook groups, telegram groups, whatsapp groups etc. that are taking the place of a forum. It will be really difficult to make your members return back.

Nowadays it feels like most new successful forums have a way of providing value to its users in more ways than just through user created content, so ideally if you create a forum it would be related to something that you have a lot of experience with and would be able to provide your users a unique perspective from.

I know in the past there have been websites and other services that you can sign your forum up on and pay for each posts that users make to fill it up with initial activity and hopefully get users to stick as well.

Travel is the 100% Profitable industry, But I don't feel really its good to start this Travel forum in the pandemic situation.

Because Much leading travel website is really struggling to recover this present time. It's my suggestion but you can take your own decision.

Best of Luck :)

Is it a good idea yes, is this the idea that’ll make you money NO, why because within 6 months you’ll give up after seeing expense and zero income. Can it make income In the long run yes. Since I’m not allowed to name different forum names here let’s just tell you I was approached by a say X forum owner and he was desperate to take down his biggest competitor (for the record I was a member at his competitor) so I told him he’ll need to spend money, and other stuff but guess what after starting the process he gave up and so I won’t advise you to start one

Travel niche is good and if you are interested in it you can make better content for the user. As of the Pandemic situation better analyze the performance of competitors before taking decision.

Making a forum is sweet. why the travel niche though? there are so many forums and social media groups dominating that niche already.

Thank you everyone for the response. Really appreciate it. I’m planning doing it on a expired domains. Have a look from semrush stats. What do you think? Preciously it was a forum too . CDCC87DA-E0D0-4C65-9BA3-B0F8B996333D.jpeg

Definitely possible, just find low competition keywords that you can target with your forum. I've thought about it myself.

Have to appreciate that you have decided to start a forum. That too in the travel niche. but as of now travel, tourism has been stopped in many countries. so better you can start some market survey or some things related to your niche before you start your forum.

a forum is a big deal. theyre fun to have but unless you have an easy way to get people on the site all the time, new people interested in your forum, its hard and nooone will join

i had a forum i posted on every day, popular everyday stuff. and i even had a way to link people to is from IMDB a huge site, i got traffic but noone joined for over 10 years

In my opinion, building a successful forum is one of the toughest tasks in internet marketing.

Because many activities that happened before on Forums happen now across social media. Plus there's this initial problem, which forums share with dating sites--nobody will join unless there's a decent user base.

With dating sites you can address this problem quite easily--you create fake profiles, and that's it. With forum... you have to do posting, creating fake discussions between fake profiles, etc. Just too difficult.

The situation is different if you have a successful travel blog (100K plus monthly users), or manage a big FB group. But unless you have some loyal audience that can help you kickstart your forum, it's really a mammoth task to make one going...

It will ALWAYS be a good idea.... IF you can find ACTIVE USERS to give you critical mass

Most people won't post on a forum that's obviously dead

If people won't post, other people won't be motivated to post and DOWN THE TOILET your forum idea goes......

UNLESS

You start with LOTS of SEED posts and FAKE but realistic looking forum accounts

Another shortcut: Pay people to participate - pay them per post

I would only start a travel forum if I was extremely passionate about, well, traveling and forum administration. Forums are risky (only the biggest and/or most specialized ones thrive; social networks have hit them hard), the travel niche is currently beyond risky, and there’s no way to know when or if that state of affairs will change. There’s a good chance of you burning yourself out before you start to see any sort of return on your investment of time, effort, and money.
On the other hand, if you’re really passionate about the idea (and have been for some time), then you may just have what it takes to weather this storm. Just don’t forget that—if you do decide to start a travel forum, you should be in it for the long haul. Anything else will just be a waste.

Just make sure you fill the database with users and useful content and find an army of people to post and help moderate. It is slow going, but if your good at marketing you got this.. Forums arent set it and foreget it, they require constant attention that is why I recommend you build a good team that believes in your forum.
