I'll write down my overall strategy here. Any feedback/suggestion is very appreciated.
Basically I'll
- Select products and request a copy from vendor
- Finalize products
- Create a website. Create landing page (homepage) with email opt-in. Offer an incentive (closely related to product) to sign-up.
- Drive traffic to landing page (mainly Youtube and SEO)
- Once a site starts getting some traffic add 3-5 quality blog posts with direct affiliate links. (Maybe to different products in same niche)
Expected timeline: I should get first results within 15 days and am aiming for $100/day by March 2014.
Detailed Plan Below
Select 15-20 products from 2-4 categories that interest me.
Criteria for selection: Gravity, Average $/Sale and Personal assessment of landing page and sales funnel.
I'm guessing that since I'm just starting out I should steer clear of products that already have a lots IMs working on it. Therefore, question 1.
Once the 15-20 products are selected I'll message vendors for a sales sample. Skip the ones that decline.
Finalize 3-5 good products
Assuming I know something about the niche I should be able to select the best products that actually add value to buyer.
Create a Website using Wordpress
I have a fair bit of experience in wordpress. So creating a minisite shouldn't be much problem (Hopefully).
Strategy 1 - Collect emails first then mail products
Landing page contains an established video guide in the niche. By established I mean a good video with good number of views, likes comments etc. already uploaded by someone.
Page also contains an email submit promising a free guide (something that adds upon same video).
Strategy 2 - Direct product review with affiliate links
I'll write script for the video based on review copy and get a professional video done from Fiverr. Video uploaded on Youtube and link to website added in description.
Video will be embedded on website. Page will also contain text review with links to product landing page.
There will also be an optional email submit (for future updates
).
Now, while strategy 1 has the advantage of better email submit conversions (better for long term), strategy 2 has the benefit of having a promotion method available (Youtube + SEO). This brings us to the traffic part.
Getting Web "FickleBitch" Traffic
For now the only stable source of traffic I have been able identify is to rank a Youtube video for non-competitive keywords by initially buying views. Anyone with experience, please help.
As I said if all goes well, I should see some results soon.

question 1: How do I assess the amount of SEO required (time and money) for a particular product?
Let's take for ex. https://www.google.co.in/search?q=earn+gold+in+wow+fast
The first result in this example is a Youtube video with 200k views and 840 likes (Video is promoting a clickbank product). Remaining results are wowwiki, wikihow pages. Now if I wanted to promote the same product for related keywords, can I realistically expect to rank my website with a very tight budget.
