I do 3d art / animation and im looking into creating NFTs. I started doing 3d art stuff before the whole NFT boom and im seeing now that alot of the top projects and art pieces are stuff that i could make. Do you have to have a pre established audience / fan-base? If so what would be best platform to try to gain an audience on. If anyone has any insight on getting started in this space it would be much appreciated!

you can try nftb.io , they have some kind of an application - verification and you can sell your art there.

Thanks for the recommendation i will check that out! One thing im kinda struggling to understand is all the different marketplaces and what each of them offer. I may start with one that dosent operate on the ethereum blockchain (since i dont have the money to pay for the fees at the moment ) . Is there any marketplaces to avoid or watch out for? And do most people stick to the same ones or is it kinda across the board?

Search around here for some of the journey threads. It's a pretty new space but already lots of noise...

There are some key factors you have to manipulate yourself. Super lucrative if you can pull it off and cut through that noise. Unfortunately a lot of work is done in private conversation.

Somehow build value as an artist. If you have a following/fanbase already - amazing. Many of the promoters and shills are paid outreach. Cold outreach works but tough. Find people/multiple wallets to buy your stuff, show there is demand for your art/project.

Yup the one i recommended to you is on binance smart chain, they recently got listed on kucoin + cz from binance has invested in their project. Not shilling the project, just this is the only marketplace i know thats reputable and has a good team behind it

Im pretty sure, if you make a search around the forum, you gonna find a lot of advices to your new start. Im hoping the best. Good luck!

Yes, I suggest you check out "NFT Collection Maker" (I'm not related to the product but I've seen it in action). Watch a few videos of it on YT. It will dramatically reduce the time you spend creating - even though that's your primary talent, it will mean you spend more time on audience-building, evaluating platforms to sell on, etc.

Just a thought!

So maybe my best bet early on is reading threads on BHW on growing on social media.

thanks for your valuable reply...I will do it....

Would you be willing to create NFT art for a fee?

Hey man! Do you have a Telegram or Discord I could reach out to you at? Would love to see your work. I plan on doing a project with a few other partners sometime in the next few weeks. Let’s chat!
