Hi I'm starting an offline business for seo and social marketing with facebook and twitter. I have a potential client and have already made a report to present showcasing my experience and how my services can help. How would I go about contacting the business owner to set up a meeting? Should I call or just go to the business in person?

It could go either way. Some people aren't going to like it if you show up on their businesses doorstep (taking up their time) when they're busy. The pre-phone call would be the safer bet IMO. Did the potential client pass his number onto you or would you be "cold calling" them?

The number was passed on from a mutual friend who says the business is looking for someone like me.

Just call in and ask to speak to the owner, introduce yourself and tell him that you were told by your mutual friend that you might be able to improve his business with your services and you were just calling to see when he would be available to sit down and talk about what he needs.

Yea call them and ask for the manager/boss/person your referer mentioned. Name drop your referer to get them to listen to.

In the phone call your selling your meeting with them not the phone call. Once you're at the meeting then try to sell them the service.
