Morning folks.
Well, we had to hit a stumbling block at some point. A chunk of the farm was on a crappy proxy set from a different project. I'd copied and pasted over an SQL query from a different account script without having my coffee first - the end result is we're down about 30,000 karma. Accounts which didn't have that problem are still fine.
Not a huge issue. Changed a 0 to a 1 and we're back to building again. The real pain in the ass is I'd just set a test run with a more scalable content model which I think will still work with Reddit based on the tests so far. Now this will have to wait, at least a few days.
That's twice in a row I've been sat next to someone when my alert system starts flying off about banned accounts for a network. The last time was in the first week for a different site hit for a very similar reason. They think it's end of days but it's par for the course starting up a new system. It's really not a big deal - sets us back a few days.
There is some good news too:
I've been working on the content side of things here and I think I can produce enough to pull in thousands of views a day without pissing anyone off. It's technically entirely whitehat (except perhaps the nudge from the farm to get it started) and wouldn't take more than a couple of hours here and there to keep running. Very keen to get it tested and I might get it started tonight.
One benefit to this project is how quickly results come in. Anyone who has seen my other journals most of them requires a lot of sitting around waiting to see what happens. If I get the time to finish this content code tonight - then I'll get results within a couple of hours. That's a cool novelty to me.
The other good news is the Google suggest traffic is flowing today. Reddit definitely seems to have an effect on this. For the sites which I'm hoping to also rank on Google, this has to be a good thing. Ranks are increasing over the last few days - but there's been other factors there so don't take anything from that by itself. I'll run a decent test for this in the next week or two.
The Reddit has huge potential. Good luck with this journey. Just be careful about shadowbanned.

Do you use google adsense in your website ?
Entirely depends on the niche. Adsense is usually my complete fallback if there's no other good option.

your remark about old accounts and new.
I think old accounts that been just sitting around not used are as useless as new accounts and need warming up all agin.
i see new accounts sticking on Reddit via warning up for two weeks.
also if you use "" twitter as the redirect to a website still works fine" less bans.
afther you find your niche , i suggest you use google to find the most seen subreddits in your niche ,and use them and bump with your sub accounts to the top .(( pro do this every day))it more traffic .

Well, cards on the table I am looking to go the other way. I've not been working on legit Google traffic in over a year and I'm working on going back more that direction as well. Part of this testing is with content which might rank for SEO keyphrases as well.
I think I've mentioned rough traffic stats but I'll post up exact numbers when it's back up and running properly. It'll obviously vary with the niche size.
I won't believe aged accounts make a difference until someone who's quite literally tested it on a decent scale tells me - or I test it myself. I automate a bunch of different stuff and I've seen aged accounts being sold for places where it doesn't make a drop of difference. With Reddit I'm using a mix at the moment from my account reg script to a bunch of aged accounts from different providers. I'll run some proper tests with them once enough are warmed up.
The times I posted are in central US if you want them to UK time just convert them to GMT. Add 6 hours so 6AM central is 12PM GMT.

Great thread. Just a couple things off the top of my head
- I've run an semi automated content farm (all that was manual was titles) for gaining karma and after around 4 months I was hit with a MASSIVE ban wave which wiped out my farm. I'm not sure where my fingerprint was but try and keep things as segmented as possible.
- As you've already noticed it's not neccesarrily the amount of votes but the quality of the content. All the votes are doing is giving it a small helping hand in getting in front of people, from there you should be away
- Are you focusing on subreddit growth or are you directly linking to your money site(s) ? Either way I have some tips for you, but I'd rather not post them all publicly.
I was considering doing the titles manually and might still if it ever becomes a problem but I'm not expecting it to. I work between a bunch of different projects so the less I have to actually do - the better. Cheers for the tip - I've a couple of different modes for the farming and thankfully it takes a lot less upvotes than I was expecting so I'm going to be able to keep the farm a lot more segmented than expected.
Absolutely on Reddit the content matters. I could drive thousands of upvotes to some junk but it only takes a handful to get thousands of views. And with a little curation, you can produce a lot of good content in a lot of niches on a fairly decent basis - there's no reason not to. Plus I'm probably less likely to have to deal with domains being banned from a sub if they actually like the content.
I don't even know what subreddit growth is. As in, growing my own subreddit? I don't know enough about Reddit yet to touch that. My entire farm is a crash test dummy at the moment. So far I've just been doing lead gen and affiliate sales with it. Though cross-posting would give you the best of both worlds I guess.

I work with a bunch of automated systems so when people ask what I'm niche I'm in the safe answer is 'all of them'. Basically, if I think I can get traffic for a niche I probably have something in it.
